but if i find a lobby with mods I usually just leave, prefer playing 100% vanilla at the moment
If someone joins my game and is clearly using cheats or game altering mods in some way I'll always kick them
If they really wanna cheat then as long as they aren't bringing other players into it unwillingly I don't care
And boy, must it be a kick in the ego when you cheat and STILL lose...
However though, from what I gathered from topic to topic is that one can influence the course of the game on their side alone, no matter if they are the host of the game or not. I find that a bit weird that that's possible, but at the same time I did read that everyone can edit their save file however they want, so maybe the tampering extends to live game stats and ammo counts.
I don't want to say that I'm ignorant, but party member levels I only pay attention to twice really - at the start and at the end. I don't consider this information all that useful while the mission is in progress. If one level is clearly impressive, I guess I do tell myself briefly "Hmm, this is the guy with level a thousand or something, look at them.", but other than that, the only thing I can do is form basic and baseless assumptions on whether the player in question has a high enough level to know what they are doing.
Furthermore, the game is PvE, that is definitely true, but it's a co-op PvE. Every one player's performance indirectly affects the experience of all the others, so it's not like cheating becomes acceptable this way. The insects are computers, they don't get mad playing against a cheater, but by cheating you still negatively change the overall mission.
Cheating in DRG, to me, feels like playing something like Minecraft with three other strangers, only you are playing on creative mode because you desire the satisfaction of winning without actually having to worry about anything.
It's as if you're at a restaurant with three other people, everyone ordering normal meals, while one of them just orders ten bottles of ketchup and nothing more. And proceeds to eat only that, squeezing it from the bottle straight into their mouth. Everyone has their own tastes and desires, but it then becomes quite difficult to get past the weirdness and disgust of seeing such event, to actually enjoy your own conventional meal.
I mean, getting kicked from games all the time is probably a sign they dont care. Some people thrive on others negativity, so they use a different success currency; others misery. So chances are, just kicking them without saying a word would be more damaging. If they even cared. :P Its a vicious cycle.
Pretty simple consent ethics because it's a co-op game.
If this was a competitive game of some sort, then I'd be more harsh about it.
If you see a cheater/exploiter, just PvP them and see how it goes.
cheaters who join others' games and use their trainers are scum and should be kicked on sight
my line of logic is simple - do whatever you want with your own games and lobbies so long as it isnt affecting anyone else. you paid for the game, you should get to do what you like with it. its when you're forcing your methods of play onto others is the moment you become an arsebandit
"They have a small dingli dongli and need it to compensate that."
I personally think using mods that only effect you are different though. like I dont think its necessary to point out that im using a slightly better flashlight mod or using Reshade to improve visuals, or that I changed the skin of molly to be fancy for me only.
but if you are joining people or hosting games with gameplay changes that effect the balance like having classes with modded guns, lower nitra cost, making doretta OP etc should be advertised so you dont waste peoples time joining and quitting a game they dont want a part of.
