Deep Rock Galactic
Constantly getting kicked.
I have been kicked from three different games today with the reason being, "I have my reasons."
Usually within a minuet of joining a game. And all of them had been running already for about 3 minuets into the mission, now I don't know if these people wanted to add a friend or something, but the last one trolled me then kicked me. If you don't want people in your group or just want to play with friends I don't get why people would not set it to private or solo. I guess I am just venting at this point about it and am a butt hurt because it's not like I join and and am just rude to these players, yet I am kicked for a reason unknown? Is it my ping? I know sometimes joining from where I live can cause my ping to be high and therefore not as effective as a team mate. Whatever the reason this is just annoying me at this point, and it unfortunately makes me not wish to play. Part of me just wishes I could just get a straight answer as to why I was kicked rather than join, help with a swarm then get kicked for, "I have my reasons." I guess that is the point of that kick reason though. Feel free to comment if you want, again at this point I am just venting about these frustrating moments. People have the right to kick if they see fit, but to be kicked in a game after helping to then be trolled and kicked, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth and as a human being makes me sad and confused, pondering as to why someone would accept my help in a mission to then just turn around and kick me.

TLDR; Getting trolled and kicked hurts. :steamsalty:

Edit: Thanks for your guys support and help in this situation, I know there isn't much I can do at this point. It does however make me happy to know there are good people in the DRG community who share sympathy with me due to those few people who just want to mess with someones day, and even though I can't do anything now about it, I can always find friendly players willing to have some fun on DRG.

"I have my reasons" or "Meant to be a private game" are default kick messages.

There aren't that many a-hole players in DRG. Seems to me that the usual reason you get kicked instantly is because you accidentally joined a game at too high a hazard (difficulty level), and the host kicks you pre-emptively on the assumption that you don't know how to play.

This is poor form IMO, as DRG is a nice, friendly casual co-op game, but not entirely understandable if the host has goals he wants to accomplish and doesn't want to risk having to carry new players.

I recommend playing haz 2-3 to begin with, depending on how good you are at this sort of game, and never use the quickjoin feature as it may drop you in a haz 5 game even as a greenbeard. There is a massive leap in difficulty from 3 to 4 to 5, so stay lower until those become easy, then go up. I tend to play haz 4 myself.

Try hosting a game? People might still leave 10 seconds after they join, but perhaps that's less annoying for you?

Yeah, this game has a pretty annoying community.

Solution: host your own games. People will join believe me.

Actually I am pretty well versed in the game. I may not be the highest level player but I am level 148 overall level and have played quite a few missions on haz 5. Each of the games I joined were haz 4 and the hosts were around my level give or take 10-20 level difference. Could have been my ping minus the last one I joined and was trolled then kicked. The last one I joined as a level 25 gunner trying to get some creds for promotion.

People are the worst.

I could always do that, though people seem to have a hard time connecting to me rather than me to others. I blame my internet provider.

From my experience, people get annoyed as someone decided to go the same class as someone else in the party. Like what good is having an extra engineer when you don't have a scout to beam up the top and get all those juicy minerals.

Totally understandable, it would be better to play to the class synergies. Usually if the class I want to play is taken I just bite the bullet and play a different one. I always try to play what’s needed for the classes at hand, eg; you have two engines in mission you join, try going scout if there isn’t one. I did the same with these missions where I was kicked. Like I said earlier it’s just hard to determine why I was kicked. Though trying to find out why at this point is useless. There are plenty of reasons, excluding the last one where they trolled me and kicked me right after, that one was pretty obvious why they kicked me.

lolwut? I've played this game for 900+ hours, mostly with randoms and have encountered only a few kids\trolls\whatever, got kicked by them even less. This community is great!

That being said, i'm playing on haz5 with randoms (rare pepe) so its mostly high lvl beards.
As a host I'm only kicking incompetent persons, that cant read and don't respond to team's needs. Unfortunatly this almost always happens to be greenbeards.

Honestly this really is the first time I have had this kind of problem with any member of the drg community. Just a bad day to join people it seems. As I said in a previous comment, I’m not new to drg, I have done haz 5 on plenty of missions. I am not the highest level player but I am level 148, and each of the missions I joined were haz 4 and each one had had at least one person around my level. Haz 4 is a walk in the park mostly. So with those circumstances I can’t say it was for being a greenbeard.

Well, than I dont really see a problem here, if you created this topic just to vent some of your heat and frustration thats totally understandable, but you're giving that person way too much attention imo. You will yet to meet a lot of jerks in real life as well as on the internet.

Right, now it sounds like the problem is your Internet connection.

Having more trouble with others connecting to your game suggests that there might be a huge difference between your download and upload speed, which makes it hard for others to download the map when you're hosting.

Try to run a speed test and check your latency & download / upload speed. Not sure if there's anything you could do about it, but at least you'd know what went wrong.

Totally feel your frustration mate, there are some ♥♥♥♥♥ around but from time to time you do encounter nice friendly players out there. You could add those cheery ones to your friends list so you can play again with them another time or join up on discord and find people who are on your wavelength.
