There aren't that many a-hole players in DRG. Seems to me that the usual reason you get kicked instantly is because you accidentally joined a game at too high a hazard (difficulty level), and the host kicks you pre-emptively on the assumption that you don't know how to play.
This is poor form IMO, as DRG is a nice, friendly casual co-op game, but not entirely understandable if the host has goals he wants to accomplish and doesn't want to risk having to carry new players.
I recommend playing haz 2-3 to begin with, depending on how good you are at this sort of game, and never use the quickjoin feature as it may drop you in a haz 5 game even as a greenbeard. There is a massive leap in difficulty from 3 to 4 to 5, so stay lower until those become easy, then go up. I tend to play haz 4 myself.
Solution: host your own games. People will join believe me.
How?
How?
Actually I am pretty well versed in the game. I may not be the highest level player but I am level 148 overall level and have played quite a few missions on haz 5. Each of the games I joined were haz 4 and the hosts were around my level give or take 10-20 level difference. Could have been my ping minus the last one I joined and was trolled then kicked. The last one I joined as a level 25 gunner trying to get some creds for promotion.
I could always do that, though people seem to have a hard time connecting to me rather than me to others. I blame my internet provider.
Totally understandable, it would be better to play to the class synergies. Usually if the class I want to play is taken I just bite the bullet and play a different one. I always try to play what’s needed for the classes at hand, eg; you have two engines in mission you join, try going scout if there isn’t one. I did the same with these missions where I was kicked. Like I said earlier it’s just hard to determine why I was kicked. Though trying to find out why at this point is useless. There are plenty of reasons, excluding the last one where they trolled me and kicked me right after, that one was pretty obvious why they kicked me.
lolwut? I've played this game for 900+ hours, mostly with randoms and have encountered only a few kids\trolls\whatever, got kicked by them even less. This community is great!
That being said, i'm playing on haz5 with randoms (rare pepe) so its mostly high lvl beards.
As a host I'm only kicking incompetent persons, that cant read and don't respond to team's needs. Unfortunatly this almost always happens to be greenbeards.
Honestly this really is the first time I have had this kind of problem with any member of the drg community. Just a bad day to join people it seems. As I said in a previous comment, I’m not new to drg, I have done haz 5 on plenty of missions. I am not the highest level player but I am level 148, and each of the missions I joined were haz 4 and each one had had at least one person around my level. Haz 4 is a walk in the park mostly. So with those circumstances I can’t say it was for being a greenbeard.
Having more trouble with others connecting to your game suggests that there might be a huge difference between your download and upload speed, which makes it hard for others to download the map when you're hosting.
Try to run a speed test and check your latency & download / upload speed. Not sure if there's anything you could do about it, but at least you'd know what went wrong.
