salvage mini mules missing last leg
I did a mission 50+ minutes plus killed tyrant shards etc and then a missing (im assuming glitched or inside a wall) last leg to the last mule held me up, and i finally had to abandon. very frusterating, retracked the whole map and checked everywhere. Would be nice to have a scanner or something that shows the last one just in case. Thanks

If I remember correctly, mule legs you previously grabbed and used should respawn after a while. That might only be the case with multiple players though.

Keep in mind that the scanner shows any dug up leg on the map.

+1, even if you're not repairing mules yet (looking for nitra/objectives, etc.) it is a good idea to dig up every leg you find, even if you just leave it there until you go looking for mules. That way they show up on the map.
thanks everyone, I'm pretty sure I used all of them which was weird because I feel like there normally are extras. Just seemed to run out of legs and the third mini mule had only 2 legs. Good to know though, just frusterating I scoured the entire cave for a solid 15-20 mins after doing the entire 45minute mission and still couldn't find a last leg for the repair

Mules used to spawn with 4 legs nearby, it was reduced 3.

Which means there are exactly as many as you need now instead of having extras.
ahh i see thank you yea the new update changed it. Still would be nice maybe to have one spare because I think it spawned somewhere insane like inside a vent or a wall idk. Sad day to abandon the mission :( at least no dwarves left behind

I suppose it doesn't make sense lore wise.

After all, how do you get more legs than the total number of legs on the MULE?

Though I personally would say it's a better idea to highlight (even if not dug up) of the nearest leg once you have 2 legs installed on the MULE so that it would be easier to squish bugs where legs spawn in the wall, or straight up fall through the map and gone to some oblivion.

ooh!
mule legs can rarely spawn at the start, happened to me once.

I just spent an hour and a half trying to find the second mules last leg and I am finally going to abandon. Why reduce the number of legs to not having extras when this can still happen? we should have some way to find the legs even if we haven't found them yet.

Agree. Had a map last night that the 4 of us spent a good 20mins running around and there was 100% not a third leg for our 3/3 mule.

In the end we agreed to a group suicide and did another map. If the original 4th leg mechanic was still around we would've been able to complete the map.

I find it odd they bothered removing the extra leg. It was a mechanic that reduced frustration in the event that there was a difficult spawn or that a glitch happens and it ended up in the ground somehow.

Earlier today, we had a leg completely in the wall, which we could only find because the glowing sphere around it just barely poked through the surface. I can't even imagine doubling around the map several times only to find that it just doesn't exist.

I have the same frustration with some other objectives, like Ebonuts (in my experience anyway), which seem to always be the one secondary objective we have to spend extra time looking for, long after we've already completed everything else.

Same experience. Bring back the extra leg please.

That's what the change notes say, but I played a solo Salvage early this morning and there was definitely at least 1 extra leg between 2 mules. Also, there absolutely were extra legs in one of the stages of this weeks Elite Deep Dive. I remember thinking at the time that they must not have extended that change to Dives.
