I'm at the point where my solo deep dives tend to be - on average - 10 minutes quicker than my solo elite deep dives. So that says to me that haz5 is worth it for XP and minerals - in solo.
Now that can change in co-op. Co-op is naturally faster to complete, but the players will determine the speed of completion and chance at success. So you need to average your personal normal completion time for haz4 co-op and then see if it increases by more than 33% for haz 5. No person can determine this for you without playing with you.
For crates and other rewarded unlockables, lower hazards are the fastet way to unlock them.
Theres also the fact that I've played strictly haz5 since it came out. So there was a long period of 'wasted efficiency' until it started to run fluidly all the time. So I guess it also depends how long it takes to reach that point and how long after it you continue to play haz5.
I actually remember a Hazard 5 mission that was a maxed out mining mission like it was yesterday.
5 minutes into mission, a default swarm happens, and one Oppressor comes smashing in. 4 minutes later into the mission, another default swarm appears and no Oppressors appear, yet a Bulk Detonator barges in (Thank God for Iron Will + Field Medic). 6 minutes later, a Praetorian swarm knocks on my door, and only 7 Praetorians appear, and about 5 Oppressors came in from both tunnel directions. Some how escaping that death trap, another swarm apears 9 minutes later, being a bloody Bulk Detonator in a cave ahead, plus another one walking up from behind me. Again, somehow sliding by, it all came to an end when a Swarmer Swarm showed up.
However, honestly, the rewards bump isn't that much. Over time, that may make huge difference, but you have to throw in the factor that you are going to fail Haz 5s more often than Haz 4s. Without doing the math, I can pretty much estimate you're going to get more rewards winning 9 of 10 Haz 4s than 7 of 10 Haz 5s.
Haz 5s seem unbeatable when you first start playing them, but once you get the rhythm and when you're with a solid group you can breeze through them. However, there's very little room for mistakes above Haz 4. Usually 1 or 2 players making a poor decision or mistake in a Haz 5 will doom it. And while it's routine to get through Haz 4s with no players going down, don't expect that in Haz 5.
Ultimately, there's no way to psych the game out to push rewards harder and faster at a much higher rate, so play what you're comfortable with. I play Haz 5 because it consistently challenges me and the team, not just because of rewards.
And sooner or later you will reach the point where you swim in wealth and you never have enough cores.
the extra 2 coming from in the Forge itself:
every 5 cores you forge at the machine you get +1
9-5 +1 = 5 :) for another +1 core as a reward.
Enjoy :)
me too bro, I had like 40-50 forge items before I decided I have enough so started to forge them lol
is all good, i'm drowning now with 50+ Cores with no use cuz hidden machines event xD
so everyone get the +1 reward after 5 use but not all notice ^^
Haz 5 is fun for people who enjoy it. You can choose not to play Haz 5, or even not playing at all.
If I was stuck with a really bad team, I'd rather be in Haz 5 than in Haz 4. At least it's going to end sooner, and the massive flop would be fabulous.
