Crossplay with PC Game Pass?

I've read that the Steam version doesn't work with the Xbox version, but does it also not work with the PC Game Pass version? I have friends that are getting the game on PC Game Pass now it's out and would obviously rather not start again from scratch.

Unfortunately it does not. The game pass version uses the Windows store so it has cross-play with XBox but not Steam.

The xbox / win store version use a different method of p2p than the steam version. They aren't compatible. Steam only plays with steam and the microsoft version only plays with the microsoft version.

That’s a shame. Thanks for the info. I’m guessing it’s not possible to transfer a save over either.

I've heard it is possible.

That's not crossplay, that's just transferring your save file between the windows store and steam and vice-versa.
