Deep Rock Galactic
No "gg" from alot of DRG players
Fight shoulder to shoulder, endure the toughest missions and the hardest fights, go through hell and back to leave no dwarf behind.....and 90% of players leave the server without a "gg".

Not a complaint, just a funny observation I've seen. This game and its community cooperate with each other like no other, operating like clockwork with no voice chat, everyone knows what theyre doing and how to do it, more than most gaming communities, which makes the experience so good. Yet unlike most other communities, most players finish matches without even a "later" or "gg".

Its weird that most people even get annoyed that they think they have to say it, "not every game is a gg". No, its just courtesy, you bang out 30-40 mins of your life in a game session and then you dissconnect, even if other players go above and beyond in matches.

I guess im spoiled since most other games and the end of matches tend to have this, strange for a game to rely on strong cooperation with each other with a long time investment, people cant bang out two characters. Still a good time all the same.

Didn't think many people were offended with seeing it, let alone being unaware the connatations surrounding it, I've always seen it as just "good game, thanks for a laugh". I feel like alot of people here interpret this as people demanding which I'm not, I think what I was ultimatley trying to get across was that people just leave without word, R&S is great communicator with expressing thanks, welldone ect, and this isn't a public post bollocking, just something I've seen in comparison to other games. R&S will always be supreme

People aren't offended by it, they just don't like gg because it's been used in a very backhanded way a lot.

Of course if you say it after a DRG game people won't think you're sarcastic (unless the game went very poorly), but they won't feel obligated to say it back like it's common courtesy because they find it to be cold and not meaningful.

Yea, i've only played a little bit but most missions, no one really talks at all. I'm definitely used to a gg in multiplayer coop games, even if we lost or someone performed really poorly. It's just being polite.

I think I noticed, during a mission it was difficult to see the chat box. it didn't seem to pop up automatically, which meant I had a hard time seeing when people were actually chatting.

I dunno, I'd say like 75% of players say gg in my games.

While I don't play this particular game in pubs, I generally only give the 'gg' in competitive games or when it's been a challenge. For example I would say it in an elite deep dive, but not for a common mission; unless someone else already did before me.

It's just an empty phrase most of the time and I absolutely don't mind it's not that common in this game. I say it when it was really a 'gg' because the mission was exceptionally hard and we were at the brink of death multiple times, but not after every random mission.

Having to agree.
Its an empty thing that might as well can be ignored.
I won't write gg just because we finished a round.

I do get that if these missions were like 10 mins then sure, done and dusted, everyone came for quick xp, but the missions at the hardest difficulty with long matches that are upwards of 30-40 mins, seems odd not to. I mean i guess to me it seems like manners, you wouldnt not say "thanks" to cashier if you've been served, even if is a local store near you.

It should come up automatically. I don't know what might prevent that. If you don't know, there is an option to have a sound play when a chat message comes up, although it must be very quiet, because I've never heard it. You can also increase the chat font size, making it easier to see (or harder to miss).

I think hitting the salute button is sufficient replacement.

Usually I "R'nS" before we get the drop-pod animation, cause of that .. and I tend to spam the button a bit at times. :)

i typically leave right as i load in, just because i don't see any point in staying. I do spam rock and stone during the extraction though, so that should count for something

Its a good enough consolation most of the time I agree.

I made a meme on reddit long ago with 3 beer mugs and 3 chat messages that
player disconnected.

*sadlonedwarfnoises

Dunno why community is so great but that aspect (leaving a quick goodbye message or celebrate a fun/hard/awesome mission) is really sad.

Anyway if someone want to befriend a more social dwarf like me feel free to add me.

My opinion: "My job is done, no time to waste. There are much more dwarfs in those caves which need my help." :dragonjug:
