What is kept on Mission failure?
So i am still new to this game.
i just spent like 40 or so min in a session.
completed the objective then the mule went vertically through ceiling....and i failed the mission. yea wasn't happy...but it is what it is. that's not what im posting here for.

on said mission i got a few skins for my gear.
I had thought that I have lost them because I failed.
but when i got back to the base i still had them.
so my question is what do you keep when you fail a mission?

You keep your unlocks, basically, everything you find that fits the term of "cosmetic". Skins, weapon models, pickaxe parts, victory poses...
As soon as you grab it, its yours. Even if the server shuts down without a "failure". Very nice for such a game.

Molly's AI pathing is fine, all it does is find the quickest way back, and take it. This is a common newbie complaint. I'm not calling you bad or anything, we've all been there. Here's some tips for next time you're calling the drop pod:

You gotta remember that the terrain in this game is fully destructible. Use that to your advantage. Also, it may not seem like strategy is all that important given how fast-paced the game can be, but planning is key. Before pressing the button on Molly, plan your way back.

The drop pod almost always spawns somewhere around 150-200ish meters away. So there's not really a point in running back to where you think it'll be. Instead, make sure your route back is easy to traverse and clear of hazards. For example, if you just jumped down a sheer cliff, make a way back up before calling the drop pod. You can do this as you're going forward in the mission, so you don't have to waste time on your way back.

This is probably hardest for the Gunner, but the other classes are fine. Engie has platforms, Scout is... Scout, and Driller can literally dig straight through the map, making a straight line to the drop pod if need be. It's actually typically what most Drillers do, unless the way back to the pod is already straightforward.

Save some ziplines or platforms for the trip out. Failing that, just start digging through the wall. You can axe a fairly long distance under the time limit. There's no need to run a huge detour around the cave when you can just axe through a wall to get to the next section.

I'm never opposed new information.
so I'll take what I learned here and keep it in mind.
but I'd rather learn the majority of the game on my own.
I very much appreciate the offer however!

Also its important to note, that there is a failsafe and the drop pod opens 10 seconds before game ends regardless where molly is.

Also you get the Minerals you mined just without the mission multipliers.

Also good to know what you miss if fail a mission: if you Find ERR:// or Bittegram and deposited it, in a fail they will not count.

Take more care when find one of those ^

Remember you always want to Win that's true, in a mission fail will only receive 25% of the credits and experience on the mission and that very low. (not worth to fail).

Good luck :)

You keep all your gold and a very small percentage of minerals and beer ingredients. You also get some credit for doing objectives (not full).
