Didn't realize it was a common thing, and yeah sure I completely agree. However is it wrong to make connections between two things you enjoy and use your imagination for possibilities which would make you happy?
objectively speaking, you expressed none of those things in the post OP. The only thing you felt the need to post as new thread, was to label this game as another's (that internally you may or not love/enjoy/etc, is not relevant to the point).... which could be taken as effectively undermining the self worth of the game itself branding it as a "copy of" / "extension of"
Its closer to alien and starship troopers.
Explaining a joke is a lot like dissecting a frog, you can pull it apart and see how it works but it dies in the process.
In other words it's a bloody joke and going into detail of that fact is a waste of everybody's time.
Alien and Starship Troopers have the similarities only in the Sci-Fi and insects aspect, however 40k is a Scif-Fi fantasy hybrid much like DRG is (It has space Orcs and Elves, onlly thing it's missing is Dwarves which is a big part of why I bring any of this up in the first place) and 40k also does include bugs (Tyranids) so ultimately it's closer to 40k than to those.
Space bugs.
Soldiers that are being sent to for their death by the company but come back anyway
No religion involved
No screaming at each other over and over again like some barbarians
Bigger Bugs
No magic involved
Yeah fair enough. Though I'd argue that there certainly is some magic going on in DRG when it comes to the Ommoran at the very least. Plus I have never seen a 40k character raise their voice, and while it may be a company the whole "sent to their death" thing is actually a big theme of 40k. And you wanna talk big bugs? Check out the Tyranid Haruspex.
Yeah I know, it does sound weird but if you think about it a lot of the time if someone gets pissed off they don't start shouting, they just sound more... Knighty? I don't really know how to describe it.
