The armor paint schemes are still color coded to sort of let you know which class it is.
Opening up the weapon colors would throw all visual identification out the window, I'm not super thrilled about that idea.
Why not just have it go one-way then? Add armor skins to the weapons, but not weapon skins to armors. I think that would be nice. It's not like there aren't already armor colors that make it difficult to identify a class (like Black Crag or Supporter). It would be nice to allow our weapons to match our class colors, thus make it even EASIER to identify a class at a glance!
I mean, with the new DLC armor and dark future paintjob you can have scout completely in black, Gunner completely orange and so on, so the whole color coded thing is out the window already.
