How does one Rock and Stone to the Bone?
Does one perhaps grapple as a scout with a Rocky internet connection, teleport mid flight and miss the platform, fall onto the Stone and shatter his bones?

Actually, that phrase refers to a terrifying and horrible health condition in which a Dwarf gets infected with Ebonite. It starts turning their bones into rock and stone, then their entire body. If they don't die from the immediate trauma, they'll die of suffocation or starvation as their internal organs slowly get blocked by solid rock.

The Dwarves just say "Rock and stone to the bone!" in a cheerful tone so that they don't have to remember the horrifying reality of the Ebonite disease.

I'm pretty sure that saying is an intimidation to men, glyphids, orcs, goblins, and, dare I say it, elves. It refers to the toughness of their flesh and skin, being almost rock-hard, but for the sake of sounding cool they went with "Rock and stone to the bone!", despite not quite being hard as rock or stone.

Now their bones on the other hand, are close to the same composition as tool steel, and it has been inspected in many individuals to be hardened and tempered tool steel based on the crystalline structure when broken, though fractures are rare.

Some active theories about how they got such tough flesh and bones are:
-Drinking so many beers infused with the toughest of the tough plants that live many miles underground in Hoxxes.
-Genetics originating from one individual that lived many many years ago (who's still alive!) and is rumored to be the Karl.
Or a more far-fetched theory:
-The dwarves themselves are forged from the toughest of materials by the master smith, Karl.
