Driller(mostly) trolls.
There is so many driller trolls ruinning games by either freezing you and shooting you dead or just blow you up with a charge or destroy the drilldozer with a charge. Of course they try to complete the main mission first so you cannot kick them and then when the team is down they just leave to make you fail the game.

Either prevent the driller from doing that stuff, give us a turn off friendly fire option or just get rid of friendly fire completely. Obviously there is other high dps weapons that can be used to troll but driller is the easiest class to troll with.

This is basically my argument why disabling kicking after the mission objective is complete is a mistake. Of course, many people think that hosts kicking people just before the end of a mission is more prevalent, which I think is bogus. Even the most toxic hosts aren't that stupid; they would kick people they didn't like immediately.
I can't say that I've ever experienced a pattern of negative behavior from Drillers in the two years nearly three years I've been playing this game. Where are you running into so many trolls? If it's a regional thing, maybe expand your server list to a longer range?
There's also a tier1 Perk[deeprockgalactic.gamepedia.com] that already exists that you can employ to mitigate these issues.

I wouldn't hold any expectations for the developers to remove (or add a toggle to remove) friendly fire any time soon. Or ever.

There seems to be one individual that gets the thrill out of ruining games for everyone, and will leave the game before completion to avoid being picked up by the steam's recently played list.

I don't think it's possible to turn off FF since it severely impact game experience, though I do think that allowing host to boot players after primary objective can be a thing. It can be a toggle that host players do, with indication on the server list somewhere that host has 'disable kicking player after mission is complete' disabled.

Personally I think that's perhaps the best way to approach something like this. Granted it's not a frequent occurrence, but when it does it is infuriating, which I assume is why OP made this post.

Throwing C4 on your teammates is the heart and soul of playing Driller
Zaddy Dec 1, 2020 @ 7:21pm
Almost always, Drillers C4ing you or freezing you is an accident, not intentional. If this happens to you frequently it's probably something you're doing to annoy your teammates. FWIW I run Friendly on my Driller to try and tamp down the FF I do. Pretty much all of Driller's weapons are friendly fire prone and I use C4 as a weapon liberally.

It could be unintentional, but as far as I know in the NA region there's one specific player that'd 'hide' their intention of griefing until the moment is opportune. Stuff like C4ing the entire team including himself when around a crate is opened, taking 4 resup on Kurasite event and then proceed to use hyper propellant PGL and teamkill.

Not often enough to warrant any game-changing rules for them. Though I do wonder if the 'recent played' can be implemented better by logging people who joins your game / people you've joined a game to, rather than people who complete missions with you

I think this is the most correct answer here.

The majority of cases are accidental.

No driller has ever frozen me, and getting killed by a Driller's C4 has happened like... 5 times or so over hundreds of hours.

"turn off friendly fire"

there's already a perk for that :/

Even if we pretend you're right, enabling kicks at all times still won't help. Driller can C4 the entire team in like a second if he wants to. No way you'd be able to react in time to kick him before he kills everyone.

Sounds more like an excuse to remove FF. I don't remember meeting any troll driller that actually succeeded sabotaging the mission.

Most of the time it's just C4-ing around the drop pod during extraction. It's not exactly good manner, but it hurts nothing more than your ego.

And seriously, every class can build for player killing. There are countless ways to put down teammates.

Never seen a single griefer in 400 hours.

I think all of them were accidental except like one.
