It is RNG. You can say to trust you but Chibbity probably has like 1500 hours alone. I have about 1000 hours. Those who have gone through the code have verified that it isn't weighted. You may be a statistical anomaly but that doesn't negate it being RNG.
Just because a quarter has a 50% chance of landing on one side does not guarantee that it will land on heads 50 times out of 100. It's entirely possible to flip a quarter 100 times and have it land on tails 100 times. I'll repeat my brief statement at the beginning.
It's RNG.
Never had that feeling when I first started playing... Right, I played every class and tried most OCs when I first got them.
Picky people end up with less options, big surprise.
next time try not having bad luck
You doubted RNGesus so he is punishing you for your lack of faith!
Only through the worship of RNGesus may you attain enlightenment and rid thyself of bad luck.
On a more serious note it’s RNG and you’re talking to people who have all the weapon OC if there was a pattern we would’ve seen it you just have a really bad luck and that can happen.
Then do a naked Jukebox dance around the error cube and chant:
"By the Spirit of Karl and the Holy Lootbug; by the Ancestors of Old and the Almighty Crassus; Oh RNGesus, hear my cries! Grant me the power of Lead Storm and A little more Oomph!; the might of Big Bertha and the Neurotoxins; strike me down with Elephant Rounds and hail me with Six Shooter! RNGesus, to you I pray for Lead Spray and Experimental Rounds! Gib luck pls.
Maybe that'll help.
Do I have hard evidence in the code of the game. Nope, just doing hundreds of machine events...not only with players I play casually with and randomly, but two players in addition to that I played solidly over the course of a year (to the point where I'm pretty sure neither of them ever did a machine event WITHOUT me in the game).
We got to point that right at the year mark when both of them had probably more than half the OCs in the game with scarcely any for the classes the had always played. One night they both decided to start running new classes and we hit a string of missions and 4 machine events. Both of them got multiple OCs for the classes they had just switched FROM after a year (one got 2 of 4, the other 3 of 4). Is this just simple anecdotal evidence that could simply be RNG? Yes, of course, but after seeing and experiencing this phenomenon time and time again you still have to take in to the account the eventually trends mean something, because it wasn't just this one time I've noticed. But I would never say for sure this is the case until the Dev team comes out and confirms it one way or another. If it's RNG, 1/4 of your OCs from events should be from the classes you're playing at the time you did them, and I can say for sure it was no where near that with me or the other players I have played with consistently.
That being said, I think weighting it this way, if they do indeed do it, is incredibly smart and endorse it. Encouraging players to spread their playtime across multiple classes not only makes the players better, it increases the longevity of the game for the player base. So if they don't weight it that way, they probably should.
