It seems very out of the blue in my case.
Could be neat, but if I do or don't enjoy it really has nothing to do with this game. It's technically not even the same people who made Deep Rock Galactic, is it?

Just sort of vaguely smells like a lot of movies these days that hope you'll pay for a ticket just because you know a name or two on the poster.

i don't care about board games, but i think this is kinda cool. i've seen some negative feedback suggesting this has been "stealing" time away from developing the game itself but i dont think thats the case. if anything, the fact that GSG are willing to devote time and effort to a side project based on the game like this is good and shows they truly do care about DRG even after all these years spent working on it.

i would be concerned if GSG announced they were making this themselves, but with those MOOD guys working on it, i expect GSG will be needed only for playtesting and creative consulting at most

i actually just got done arguing with some loser on the /vm/ general about deep rock on this very topic lmao

Ya, I consider DRG to be entirely done and don't even care if Ghost Ship have retired completely, so they can do whatever they want with their time (especially if they're not even doing this with their time)

But that said, there's an approx 0% chance I would ever play this, even if it were provided at no cost to me

I know im hyped; although i never once had the idea that it felt like it could be a board game (unlike MANY of the games on that list, a lot of them are practically board games made into pc games already( i got back from pax hungry for board games and just late funded Northgard (totally forgot about that one!)

This is a weirdly specific concern for me, but I've seen at least 3 indie dev teams try and "board-game-atize" their game only to go under weeks later. I seriously doubt GSG could possibly screw this up, I have a lot of trust in them. It's just a weird thing I noticed.

Like Dwarfurious said, I didn't even know this was a thing I wanted. But now I do.
