"Hi Ho, Silver - Away!" Achievement

Hi Ho, Silver - Away!
Ride Molly for 15 seconds.

Do you have to do this in one "sitting"? Without dropping off Molly's back? 15 seconds in a row? It seems I should have unlocked this a long time ago if not.

Nope. Cumulative. As soon as you get 15 total seconds it should pop. I believe it tells you progress if you drill down into the achievements in Steam. I did it over the course of a few times riding. I got a buddy in a session a while back and he did it in one ride (tougher than it sounds...you slip off easily unless terrain is flat and there are no obstructions).

Pretty sure. If you've put in time in on it, drilling down into the achievement will show you how many seconds you have so far and a progress bar like. Someone else correct me if I'm delusional and thinking of a different achievement, but at no point can I recall ever riding on Molly for more than a couple seconds at a time.

I remember constantly trying and it would record how close I got but then reset on next attempt until it was finally done in one go....

Unless they change it or i was imagining i think it is one go

Yeah, that's the "time for the achievement" that I was referring to. It was 9 seconds before, and it's still 9.

Honestly though first time I checked I had 7 seconds on that progress bar. Then, I started staying on the Mule when it was called back. First time I managed to be on it for what seemed like 10 seconds. Progress bar updated to 8 seconds. I tried a second time, managed about 10 seconds again, then the progress bar updated to 9 seconds. And I haven't managed to make it go up since then. I think it just records your highest time on the Mule without falling off.

I may be wrong on this. If that's the case, it's not implemented very well. Other achievements specifically tell you if you have to do something consecutively or in a row (10 mission in a row without kicking a barrel, 5 Haz 5s in a row without failure). Why even have a progress bar when you either achieve it or you don't?

It's like the "If Only I Got Paid For This" achievement. It shows your best attempt thus far but you have to start over each time.

It absolutely had to be all in one go when I did it, but that was a while back.

Thanks for correcting me on this. Normally I'd get all uptight about being wrong, but I've been married many years now, so I'm used to being wrong consistently every day. Hopefully my wife didn't overhear me discussing "Riding Molly"

I was starting to think that maybe it did accumulate, because I rode the MULE some last night and my time increased from 9 to 12, and I didn't think that I'd ridden it for 12 seconds. But I wasn't really keeping track, so the ride was probably just longer than I realized.

IAC, I tried again tonight, rode it for about 15 seconds (just counting in my head) in one shot, and got the achievement. So, either way, I'm done.

Probably so that you can see how close you've gotten. There's one for the barrel hoop game achievement too. I've attempted that one on occasion, when the mood strikes, and haven't gotten it yet, but I can see that I've gotten fairly close (2920 out of 3000), which is somewhat encouraging.

I got the Achievement but I counted to 20s while staying on the Mule in one go, after 20s I stopped counting and probably abotu 5-7s later the Achievement unlocked. I just stayed on it until it unlocked or I was pushed off lol. But yea, I guess I'll never know, since when I unlocked it, I did 20+ seconds on it in one go.
