Are you joining after the mission started, or when they're still on the Space Rig? The "no duplication" option is really for "latejoin", which means after the mission has started. In that case, you should not be able to pick a duplicate class.
That option doesn't stop you from having duplicate classes in the Rig. I don't know what happens if you then try to start the mission with duplicates.
You can class switch while joining on a classlocked mission that is in progress. I think it's a bug.
Could be. I've never tried to use Q or E (or any other keys) when joining a game, so I have no idea what they do (or are supposed to do).
