Lore: Relation Between Glyphids, Mactera, Etc.
I was wondering if there is any lore yet that mentions how the different species of Hoxxes are related to one another. I got curious since they are clearly divided in the Miner's Manual yet in-game they do not ever attack one another. I think it would be interesting to see at least in some game modes a map where the different species attacked one another.

The aliens probably have their own hierarchies for their species however they all benefit from each other since Glyphid's don't have any kind of air support so the Mactera's fill in a void the Glyphid's hierarchy while the Glyphids fill in a void the Mactera's hierarchy since they have nothing for ground support as two examples.

I don't think such lore does exist, actually.

It could be interesting to know just a little about possible interactions between the creatures of Hoxxes, I do agree on that. That's something that could be added to the Miner's Manual, or introduced through some voice lines, perhaps.

Speaking of gameplay, though, I'm not sure whether I'd enjoy witnessing fights occur between different enemy types, or among individuals of the same species ( much like what the zombies from Left4Dead would do, at times ) or not. Let's say that I'm contempt with what's already in the game.

I'd like to imagine that, once Deep Rock and the dwarves stepped on the planet, all of its belligerent creatures unanimously opted to primarily focus their efforts on the bearded invaders.

That's not exactly a good comparison since Zombies well don't exactly have any kind of hierarchy that causes infighting, now DOOM's demons on the other hand you can make that comparison because there's a hierarchy there on the demons and like any demon the lower class will try to pick fights with the bigger class.

That could make sense. A sort of mutualism since each can do things the other can't. I also wonder if the Glyphids have sort of cowed the other species into their service, too, since the Warden sort of implies they have some latent psychic and pheromone-based abilities.

I think more lore and information is always good, especially for world building purposes. In terms of fighting though, I dunno. I'm the kind of person who wants to see the devs push beyond their boundaries eventually so who knows what could happen later on.

Also part of my head-canon is that the Glyphids at least, and potentially some of the other species are not actually native to Hoxxes IV which adds some potential flavor.

i imagine that the two species recognise there's a bigger threat on their hands in the form of the dwarves, so killing each other is less important than killing the invaders. they have some sort of unspoken, subconsious agreement

that said, it would honestly be rad if they introduced monster infighting into the game at some stage. you walk into a new room and see some glyphids fighting each other, or mactera spitting at them to their enragement. then you walk in and clean up the mess
