gunk seeds should be more visible
collecting gunk seeds is too much of a chore compared to all of the other secondary objectives, especially the terrain of the magma area makes them so hard to get or see!

while all other secondary objectives are easy to see with either lights or cool colors like dystrum veins or booloo caps; the gunk seeds are solid grey and hang like all the other grey rock stalactites from the ceiling and with how huge some caves are the only way to find them is to litter the ceiling 30 meters away from you with all of scouts flares and swing your pointer around for 5 minutes straight hoping it lands on a gunk seed and not a stalactite...

my suggestion is that a light should be added to the end of the gunk seed plants just like the booloo caps because right now it is just the worst thing ever.

because you people act as if I have just written down the title and haven’t talked about your points at all,I have written down how you need to use the flares, but you can’t just throw enough of them unless you call in pods just for scout and even then you still have to fling your pointer around which is another topic I have talked about which is also a point which you people have mindlessly written down as if the post never mentioned it,you guys are posting filler comments when you could just re-read the post
Not every response need be directed toward your posts, nor is anyone required to respond to any of your posts. As long as discussion is kept civil and within the scope of the OP, people can talk to whoever they want regarding whatever they want.

I take no issue with the idea of adding a faint glow to Gunk Seeds or Ebonuts, similar to fossils. It'd make sense, since every other seconday object has a glow to help players locate them.

But saying that your only current recourse is to "litter the ceiling 30 meters away from you with all of scouts flares and swing your pointer around for 5 minutes straight" doesn't help your case. Either it's hyperbole which won't do any favors for credibility, or it's really what you've seen people do which is just bad gameplay.

Yeah, the objectives can be a little more annoying than some of the others (I personally think Fossils are still more annoying then Gunk Nuts, but Ebonuts are at the bottom of my list). And adding a glow would help to alleviate that. But in the meantime, there are tools to help you find them and misusing those tools is not evidence that they don't work.

You can actually see their shape in the darkness...
I noticed this as well. I can't say for certain that it works on every biome/cavern ...
Took a screenshot to illustrate how they can be seen without light, at least in certain biomes: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2127753672

well my main point is that they're bad in big caves in the magma biome since it's so far away, fully grey and filled with stalactites

Aren't gunk seeds visible on the scanner? Or does it work only after they are free?
have fun flinging your pointer around a huge magma biome cave trying to find a plant that blends in extremely well with everything else unlike literally every other secondary objective in the game, also stop making me re-write stuff just cause you didn’t care about reading the post you commented on
Did you quote the wrong person?
holy-death said nothing about the pointer.
The "scanner" does not refer to the laser pointer, it refers to the Terrain Scanner. The map.

Indeed.

I did a few missions with the gunk seeds (we got them all, each time) and I did notice they were visible on the scanner. The reason I was asking is because I didn't remember if they were visible on the scanner prior to being harvested. That's all.

I thought it was obvious, yet the OP's response is completely out of touch with what I was asking about.
Has anyone mentioned they look like ballsacks yet?

Because they look like ballsacks.

Thanks - I needed a laugh after reading the rest of this thread and that had me spitting my tea over my keyboard.
they have a very distinct shape that stands out when matched against the fog of war. if anything i appreciate that these new secondaries actually require a bit of planning and teamwork compared to just "press E on the mushroom"

ALSO GUYS :DDDD THEY LOOK LIKE BALLS :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Alien ballsacks are fine. It's the EboNUTZ that's hard to spot. DRG went full Rated M with this update. :lunar2019crylaughingpig:
