I didn't have any yeast cone for like 6-10 games. In the other hand I have like 65 starch nuts in surplus while I have 8 yeast cones and I didn't buy any beer etc for a damn while. The spawn rates should be fixed or it would be a good option to be able to trade by example 3 starch nuts for 1 yeast cone or something like that. I have like tons of barley bulbs and starch nuts that I don't use while I struggle way too much to get Malt stars and Yeast cones. If you guys have tips, feel free to put them here but I don't think there's any tips except "play more"....

if it helps, you dont need to give a damn about any other hops besides the barley bulb once you unlock the "today's special" category

once you do that, you only need to pay barley bulbs to get the buff drinks. the XD funny joke beers arent worth anything practically speaking, so dont stress over them

Barley bulb is the only important beer ingredient.

Everything else is secondary.

You are right, there is no other tips than play more. It is RNG, sometimes your lucky and leave with 12 malt stars, others you have a drought for 6 games. It happens.

My superstitions say yeast cones and malt stars both are more common in levels with big caverns, so PE, salvage, or things like biozone or sandblasted, whereas starch nuts are basically just flying out the butt at all times

Yeast cones are the bane of my existence. I'm constantly in short supply, but have TONS of malt stars and starch nuts.

Malt stars are the freaking Jadiz of beer ingredients.

This is a minor issue early game when you're trying to unlock the beer licenses but in a short while you will have hundreds of all ingredients and not be able to spend them all.

I have 1000+ of all ingredients -- you just gradually get them. I wouldn't focus on anything - just play the game. After a while you have 1000's of minerals, 100,000's of $ and tons of other supplies.

Starch Nuts are definitely too plentiful compared to the other plants I find. It's why I mostly don't bother grabbing them, even if I unlocked all the beers long ago and still get the other non rose plants.

Yeah but bear in mind that starch nut are used in EVERY beer on the menu.

I am guessing it is meant as a sort of "base" ingredient while yeast cones and malt stars are the specific. Hence it is more common than either.

Just play more. You'll get them and not even notice them piling up. Starch nuts seem to be the most common. I have about >600 of them and 400 each of malt and yeast.

If you want more of them as fast as possible, join games with other players. 4 people combing caves and getting missions done fast means you'll get more ingredients fast.

The real baffling thing is that you need both starch and "malt"

If the malt is the source of the ferment, then why do you need yeast?
If the starch is is the material to be fermented, then why do you need malt?
If malt is the material to be fermented, then why do you need starch?

What's happening? How do I get out of here?

I wish you could buy them like with the minerals
