What's your GPU? And does the game ask you for that driver?
doesn't make any sense.. unless if there are features required for the game to run?
issue for the op is he probably doesn't have a DX11 capable GPU either.. cause DX11 Nvidia GPUs all(well, at least the ones im aware of :P) support the 390 drivers..
I have an Nvidia 8600GT
I was using a 630GT for a few years and the fan won't spin anymore so I can't use it
And my hard drive died and I need a new one ASAP so I can't get a videocard anytime soon
My power supply can't go above 300watts so I can't get a modern card without getting a new power supply first
This is the worst possible time to upgrade
Have you never run into them before? You'll probably only see them on major publisher AAA titles, EA and Square Enix love to use them; Battlefield has been a major offender of late. What's annoying is the tolerance for the lockouts; if you're even sometimes two WHQL releases behind, the lockout will show up even though the games still run perfectly with older drivers. It's really arbitrary, even more so when a simple file removal deals with it and doesn't affect performance in the slightest.
