Character Selection Game Freeze [Solved]

Hello~ I've been having a problem whenever I enter the Character Selection Terminal inside of my spawn room inside the Space Rig. When the terminal is opened, the game slows down to an unplayable framerate to where I can't move my mouse, or the game just freezes. This is kind of annoying as I have characters I want to promote, but due to this freeze I'm hesitant to even enter the Character Selection screen. Thus I choose my characters via other terminals such as the Wardrobe or Equipment. However, as I said, I want to promote my dwarves so I would really like to know if there's an upcoming fix or a current solution to this problem.

Whenever I have to switch Characters I do It on the Equip Terminal, or sometimes the Wardrobe Terminal- been doing this since December

It didn't use to do that- It happened when they added the (completly unneccesary) Video Intros for the classes

I and others have reported this - It's one of the very few things the GSG Devs have yet to fix

Thank you for the advice, Mr Purple33. I have tried to do this already, but unfortunately it still didn't solve the issue for me

Hey, Wiawyr~ Thank you for your input! I will look into others' solutions and try "Fourth" that you said. I didn't realize other players had this problem as well because all my friends with whom I played never complained about their Terminals. That's why I hadn't thought of visiting the Bug/Crash Board. I appreciate your help

Not a problem, and I'm 99% certain that renaming the videos so they don't get loaded by the character terminal will solve your problem. I go into some further detail about them in that thread, they're pretty beefy files for what they do.

So I went ahead and tried your suggestion for a fix and it worked! I can finally get on with promoting my lvl. 25 Gunner and Driller. Thank you so much, Wiawyr

I'd forgotten abou tthose videos. I did this on day 1.

But I would only add a few letters that can be easily removed in the future if you want to reenable them.

You can also shorten the start-up time of the game if you rename both Intro video files.
