weapon skins and stocks?

so im trying to figure out how to get more of the stocks for each gun?

I have just promoted my first character and have access to the forge which I understand you need to do deep dives to get core to use in that.
however I cant see any information online about the second weapon customization option which is above where you select your skin for each weapon.

can anyone tell me how to unlock these? I have a few already mostly glyphid hunter ones, which add the teeth and bone to the gun but there are other slots in there and I cant seem tto find any information on them online, atleast it isn't clear what are just paint jobs and what re added cosmetics.

anyone know or have some they could show me?

You can find new weapon models in cargo crates. They have a 16,6% chance to appear in a normal mission.
