desert sharks need a slight nerf
These guys almost insta kill on level 5 and the worst part is you can barely hurt them anymore. It use to be if you shot at them enough they would belly up but now you just have to get lucky and hope they start flopping around

But isn't that the point of hazard 5? To be the hardest difficulty?

I mean in general. Even only lower difficulties they became annoying

They used to be more annoying, they could take you THROUGH terrain and throw you off in a cave somewhere far off from your team mates.
Thankfully they can't do that any more.

Agreed. If you're not a gunner who can afford to shoot the sand to hunt for their short vulnerability window, you're in trouble. And usually, we have to do that while being swarmed by dozens of other enemies. These guys need some sort of adjustment, like a part of them should always be visible while they are swimming under the sand. HIghly mobile enemies with temporary immortality are not fun.

I know that some people around here like them, but I also think that it's no fun to fight these. If you are in a stressful situation it's just super annoying to have that invulnerable, hard to see thing coming out of nowhere all the time. In the wrong situation this can lead to extreme difficulty spikes. I'm all for challenging enemies, but these enemies are occassionally just unfair and frustrating, which is not the same as challenging.

I love the design, but I would also like to see at least a small spot where you can hit them all the time.

ok hear me out. Why not get rid of these guys and just add ground leeches, like the sarlack in star wars.

They're fine if you keep your eyes open and are prepared for them.

Scout: Get off the floor.
Engie: Put down a SG, it will pull themm out of the sand pretty well.
Driller: They are weak to fire and cold, easy kill for you.
Gunner: Spray and pray, or hunt from a zipline.

When they catch you by surprise though? Ugh. Worst pinball game ever. Got 3 of them in a tunnel on the route to escape pod once. May as well have been "Roll Dice to Fail Mission: Critical Failure"

Bonus points when they drop you into a pit filled with shellbacks and a grabber joins the merry crew. Just lean back and enjoy the show...

I've been killed by one because he downed me while grabbing me, dragged me into red sugar during my iron will, and then damaged me again so I'd drop. They can really be a pain in the ass.

I really love these guys, probably my favorite enemy. But I make it my highest priority to keep track of them once I hear them and take them down ASAP. If you keep ane eye on them theyre not so difficult.

Sand sharks have a hard time getting to higher terrain so that's what you should do. Stay up high as much as possible in sandblasted. Even if they decide to do their super jump, it makes them incredibly vulnerable.

I just wish a well-timed power attack was effective on them! As far as I can tell they're literally immune to all pickaxe damage, even when in their vulnerable state.

I usually play haz 5 but played haz1 for an achievement. There was a shark in a tunnel i saw him early enough but still couldn't hit him. He took me to a deep pit and nearly killed me. Pretty scary enmemies.
