Adding Friends in-game

Am I missing something or is there no way to simply add people in your game to your friends list? Steam doesn't track recently played and do I really need to be arsed to search by name?

Name or friend code that's in your profile page. But no, there isn't a friend list in game.

Steam literally has a "recently played with" tracking.
Open the overlay press the button (lower left, friends racket) and switch to recent players.

Which dosen't work all the time for every game. Mine never showed any recent drg players.

Aye checked multiple times last night since my group wanted to find a guy who randomly joined us lolz. None of us were able to locate the guy anywhere.

I can't tell if its working for all joined, but the last few i remember having in my matches are in the list.

Yeah that would be great if it hadn't been bugged since the game came out.

Hosts do not show up on the list. If you join a random game, the only way to add the host as a friend is to ask him to do it, or search up his name.

I never got a problem to find people I just played with in DRG. That's weird. Could it be steam related, something in the options maybe ?

I just checked. I played 2 games yesterday. Neither of the hosts show up in recently played with.

For me Recent players works fine with DRG (Host or not host, shows all of them). But for example Insurgency Sandstorm, not so much.

Game could definitely use a better way to add friends. The recent players list is not working reliably at all.

now it appears that my recently played is working. no game tops l4d2 for steam friend integration.

Just had the same problem to add people as friends. When I found the option to add someone you just played with, I could not find the host in this list. Thats really something which has to be fixed. The game is about cooperation and playing with friends and not always randoms.
