Let us rebind Hover Boots key
I think 'C' is awkward to press. I would love to rebind it to space or another key.

Yeah the binding of active perks to keys that already have a function is weird. I get they're trying to keep some sort of consistency between PC and console controls, but why? The entire keyboard exists, use it!

Using the "call molly" button is just a bad idea. Please give us "active perk #1" and "active perk #2". I'm not a consol pleb and do not like being held back to make them happy

I don't even know what that perk is good for.
You just hover mid air, no mobility and because you have to hold a key which then freezes you at an altitude whenever the game decided this key has been "held" instead of letting you hit the floor, it's too unprecise to be used as fall damage mitigation due to things like lag so it sucks at both jobs it is supposed to unify.

What was wrong with doing a superman landing by holding jump?
At least that worked reliably and did the 1 job it had.

Now my driller and scout got nothing to fight their #1 killer and my gunner and engineer got nothing to boost their upwards mobility.

You can rebind keys. Just set the mule key to something else. Or if you still want the mule on C, set a secondary key.

I use C and Q.

Wouldn't be ideal for me.
The perk is unreliable garbage rn. I'll just have to wait and struggle without fall protection until it gets reworked again.

I've fallen to my death like 3 times because it doesn't work all the time. I liked impact boots better

OMG, I literally was just thinking this and came here to post THIS EXACT TOPIC. I totally agree. C sucks to press. I want to double tap my spacebar. Duh.

The time for jump triggering it has passed I think, since this it how it was in experimental and it just triggered when players were trying to jump up steps. I doubt they'll go back to that.

This is as clients I presume? It always works for me, but I almost always host. Probably just needs some more smoothing out. Or like I suggested, maybe adding impact compensators as a backup effect.

I agree.

Letting us rebind it would help, I would love it being an alternate function of SPACE, but it might get fiddly with mantling edges.

In fact, I think I much preferred the reworked Impact Compensators. It felt very intuitive to hold SPACE while falling to reduce damage.

Now it's a scramble to find the call button when I'm falling by accident, only to also have to play a guessing game as to when exactly to hold it, for how long, and how far away from the ground so that I don't get hurt anyway.

The cooldown's too long as well.

have you never considered the perk of not taking fall damage or being ivulnerable to grunts?

Never considered the secondary binding, good tip even 2 years later. Thanks fam. Still waiting for a binding specifically to have Bosco shoot a rocket though. Control + Right Click is so... Slow. When I need a rocket I need it like, NOW :P

This is a good idea, otherwise I like 'c'. Didn't the key used to be shift+something? That I hated.
