The active skills need their own bindable hotkeys
No idea why you would think that randomly activating your dash or double jump mid combat since you mash the button was a good idea, especially when this game has very little hotkeys needed right now.

Why are you mashing your buttons?

Please behave! The forum is a public place, not your living room.

Personally i don't have a problem with the way most perks activate, but i can understand your wish for at least having an alternative.

Depending on your playstyle and fondness to mash buttons you could in fact activate perks by accident i guess.

Maaaybe it just takes some getting used to tho.

You even double jump if you jump while falling off the smallest rock, it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ retarded just like you needing 800 hours to unlock all perks

Again, keep up with the language and we're gonna report you.

On topic, be more careful? Or just wait the very small cooldown window?

I'm not against custom binds for activated perks, but really; it's not that big of a deal.

I would like to see a different hotkey for the shield perk. Its quite easy to accidently shield someone when depositing at the mule or taking a resupply.

This game is cross platform. So many people don't think about that. Every control needs to be translatable to a controller and there are no open keys left on the controller. Not gonna happen.

I agree with the sentiment. It is nonsense for a PC game to lack hotkeys for things as important as this. Even taking the Xbox into consideration, there is no reason PC shouldn't have the option to change this stuff up. It's utterly ridiculous.

They would then be required to market it on Steam as "partial controller support". That would probably hit into their sales and alienate anyone using the game currently with full controller support. Works fine as is.

Adding additional controls for keyboard and mouse doesn't mean changing the controller support in any way. Controller players would feel no difference to the current way it's set up, I'd imagine.

Ideally, there would be a checkbox for k&m players to adjust that allow them to toggle whether they would like context-sensitive perk activations or not. I see it as nothing different from changing keybinds.

irrelevant, pc and xbox players can NOT play together with this game

Wrong.

Steam and Xbox players can't play together.

Windows store and Xbox players can though.

I get the feeling they would legally be required to put that the game has "partial controller support", since the game would only have part of the controls supported by a controller. Doesn't matter if the impact was small, potential players who use a controller would see that and be put off. They would have no way of knowing it had a minor impact without buying the game first.

It would also most likely open the floodgates. Now that the game isn't full controller support what other kinds of additional controls can be given to PC players to improve the experience? This could lead to an increasing divergence between the console and PC versions. Creating an increased development workload as the two versions of the game started to slightly diverge.

They might also be trying to stick to a controller scheme so they can attract investors for future related projects or just porting DRG to the other consoles. It's much more attractive if they can market the game to both console and PC.

I don't think allowing custom hotkeys for PC is really going to affect the XBOX players in any way, shape or form. Keyboards have more keys/buttons then controllers, everyone knows this, so why limit the ability to rebind keys on PC just because the XBOX controller doesn't have enough buttons to support this capability.
