Field medic Active is quite underwhelming
Anyone else find the active part of the field medic so disappointing? First of all is the fact that it can be done only once per mission, just like Iron Will. But at least the active ability you get from IW is more or less decent, while the FM active is just a regular revive. Second is the fact that it's not even instant, you still have to start reviving and hold the mouse button for quite some time. This barely saves any time, truly underwhelming.
I think a better alternative would be what Payday 2 had - remote revive by shouting at the fallen teammate within certain range (PAIN IS ONLY IN YOUR MIND). I think this active would add much more excitement to the gameplay. A cooldown of 5/10 minutes would be quite balanced imo, since activation once per mission feels rather boring.

P.S. I like the passive part of the perk though, and I think it should be left as it is.

Wow, 15-25 meters is a lot to ask, it's almost a grappling hook distance. Payday 2 had a distance of 9m, which I think would be quite appropriate for this game as well.

Yeah that'd make sense to me as well.

And if a visual animation goes with it then maybe:
Within 9m, our dwarf could under-hand toss some sort of "grenade" of purple juice to get them on their feet.
(To be clear, we wouldn't have to aim it like an actual grenade, we should just point at the dwarf and hit the key, and the purple juice "grenade" should automatically home in on the desired dwarf.)
Really liking this ranged revive idea, would be much better than the way it is not (ironically not even instant, still quicker but not instant.) 10m sounds like a fair distance, with line of sight.
They should definitely make the 'Active' better. (I'm for removing Active/Passive though.)

Maybe you javelin a syringe of Slammer into your fellow Dwarf.

+1 the active is garbage
it needs to be actually instant not hold down your mouse for half a second.
Made two attempts at the EDD, and died on the second stage both times. This really emphasizes how people relied on Iron Will for the toughest missions, as it's a real ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ now.

Don't know how it relates to the topic at hand, but you are right :) I also failed 5 times on the 2nd stage of EDD (with 5 different teams) until I finally made it.

It means that we all relied on such a game breaker that I think for most people stuff like Haz 5 missions or later EDD stages have become virtually unplayable. There's just no end to relentless hordes, Dreadnoughts that just won't die, and mass exploders.

Aces in the hole help quite a bit. Maybe Iron Will didn't need to be nerfed as much as it did. Rather, it needed competition.

Honestly I'm pleasantly surprised how civil this discussion is.
Slightly off-topic, I use Iron Will only for Deep Dives. It's the only time I feel it actually has worth now.

And I agree with most posts here. Currently the "instant" res is not instant at all. It feels very clunky to use since you have to start the res, then hold the mousebutton for a short time to activate the "instant" ability. Which is the very definition of not being instant.
As a old school Payday 2 player I can honestly say I really like the idea of putting Aced Inspire (ranged res) in DRG. Difference would be that in Payday 2 you can res through walls etc so you don't need LOS.
In DRG I think that this is what they should consider with the instant res.

1. Make the instant res actually instant
2. Make it ranged
3. One time use
4. LOS requirement
5. Range of max 10 ingame meters

Granted I would be happy with the instant res ability aslong as they make it actually instant. They don't need to make it ranged at all. Just make it instant.

Still Field Medic is the best active in the game so I still use it on every dwarf because it has such a great passive.
