I promise you that I always istalled them on wall or on ceilings of the corridors. For good engies it is a nerf. They not often survived a single wave, but if they do it, they are still useful. Instead of nerfing them, also disarming could be offered as option.
2 waves ~ 5 min is actually a very good value. From infinity to 3 min (1 wave) is a bit too strong nerf.
Sure this balancing will take some getting used to, but unlike the Iron Will complainers, I'll adjust to it and be fine- honestly, as much as I Love the Proxies, I feel they were OP actually
I do Solo Salvage missions a Lot, and while I'll miss the Pure Joy of having a constant minefield blowing Bugs away comboed with the GL - 3 minutes should be plenty of time to still multiple hit most waves
There ARE two minor annoyances with the Prox Mines changes
1) I used to set up Traps and Minefields BEFORE I started whacking away at an Uplink, etc
now I have to whack those to 85% THEN toss my mines
2) Those times when I would plant a Prox Mine on the run down a Mining Mission, it would use a charge, then 15 minutes Later on the Run Back to the Pod, It would still be there, as an extra Boom for pursuing Bugs- a small thing, not vital, but it would be handy- and always amuse me
This will greatly help in my general Trap Seting as well
very helpful
