This game could use mods and a level editor
This game could really use mods and a modding community, since you're indie devs and if you have ambitions for this game it makes no sense to make this game by yourselves. Especially when there was a huge mod community for quake engine games from the 90's till the mid to late 2000's.

Here's a link via waybackmachine:

https://web.archive.org/web/20050805003638/http://www.planetquake.com/features/motw/

Dev's should also check out overload when you get the time, it has a full blown level editor like yee old days.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/884970/Overload_Level_Editor/'

I've sat down wondering if you shouldn't open up the game to the mod community so they can generate single player content that isn't merely AI multiplayer co-cop with bosco. It'd be cool to see the kinds of stuff people would do to their dwarves and see what people could do. I imagine you'd find a groundswell of talented amateurs and pro's who like your little fps co op mod game but think it could use a boost.

mods.... possible but least likely

level editor, may not happen, every map is randomly generated so i dont really see a point of a level editor if each mission generates a random map

How would a level editor even work in a game with randomly generated maps? Mods would be nice though.

Remember when Wolf3d had mods? Petridge farm remembers.

Maybe, mod workshop, it's something that's been mentioned before, didn't come down on any side, but it is definitely a thought worth a consideration.

It happens all the time, see civilization.

Well given the cosmetic aspects of the dwarves it would be damn cool to see what the community would come up with.

I'm actually not sure about a map editor. Perhaps if each map you play had a seed # that you can then share with others (no idea if that is already a thing - risk of rain 2 has this).

I've been advocating for a map editor for Vermintide 2 for quite some time but with the RNG aspect of DRG I'm not sure if it's necessary.

Vets have been asking for that since 2015. The two issues are Games Workshop and the 2nd being Fat Shark are too bone idle. With DRG they don't share the same first issue but I'll go out on a limb and assume that they share the second.

The simple fact is that things like mod support extend the longevity of games ten fold. It's literally win-win-win for every party from every angle. Old classics like Quake, Thief, Doom, Deus Ex, Total War etc still have thriving communities to this day 20-25+ years on due in no small part to modding and fan made content.

They'll never do it though. It's just too beneficial.

you're right, they should abandon their vision of what the game should be and stop everything they're working on currently just to satisfy a couple of boomers.

A stupid response does indeed include some stupid words.

Before trying to respond with gibberish and half competent phrases I would suggest you actually give some thought to your response and that perhaps... just maybe... you don't know everything you're talking about.

Fatshark gave their vision of a Dedicated Server... not true. They said they wouldn't sell micro transactions in VT2... not true. They said they wouldn't add PVP to a purely cooperative game... not true.

Can't believe you'd use "boomer" when the only date given when it comes to VT2 and Fatshark is 2015. Who knew that 5 years could put someone into that stereotypical age bracket? Such idiocy.

Mods and multiplayer co-op based games are not really a good mix-up, especially in a medium-low player count.

There are some people who make mods for this game and it seems like every part of the game can be modded. But all of these mods aren't public because they break after every update.
I'm not sure how the map editor would work effectively.

CIV was brought up, but games in a several hour long 4X match seem different to half hour cave runs.

However, the maps in this game are generated using built pieces I believe, which is why you can sometimes run into real similar gens and rooms.

I think it'd actually work better to have an editor for rooms / pieces. But for giggles, it'd be nice to just have the map editor too yeah.

Clearing an endlessly tall room held up by massive pillars, then going into the next room to find a massive cavern only guarded by narrow passages would be neat.

Just like almost every mods do in any game.

Level editor?

What you mean is you want the developers to implement an optional form of map seed generation control where you can adjust the seeds parameter limits and/or specifics.

Cavern size: [l| | | | |]
Spawn density: [l|l|l|l|I|] (+20% payout)
Mineral abundance: [l|I|I|I|I|] (-20% payout)
Bug speed: [l|I| | | |]
Allow all bug types: [X] (+20% payout)
Disable Iron Will: [X] (+420% payout)

ETC.
