Don't know what other things you can play for other than the Stars above your name... Prestige ranks? Meh. Weapon skins? Chase achievements?
I hope we will get an option to turn them into empty cores, because there is such a gigantic amount of cosmetics to unlock. With the current maximum of 7-8 cosmetic cores per week I will need at least 6 months to get all of them.
Rewarding blanks just makes sense.
Machine events will also only reward cosmetics until you unlock them all, after that only mineral cores can be chosen.
+1
If I am correct I am only ten overclocks removed from collecting all of them. So it should take two more Thursdays to complete this collection.
It would make sense to either give us a blank core or just replace the weapon overclock with a random cosmetic instead. They could also add more weapon overclocks.
Those who've been doing both dives and using cores on OCs won't be far off.
If I wouldn't had used all my empty cores for cosmetics, I would have 93 of 98 overclocks.
You can currently get 7-8 OC's per week:
1 from the weekly assignment
1 from the deep dive
1 from the elite deep dive
3 from empty cores
1-2 from forge mastery levels
So one way or another they will need to make a decision soon. IMO the ideal solution would just be to give us cosmetic cores instead until more weapon stuff is added. Blank cores would also be acceptable, but machine events would become a chore if you had to do them too often, possibly 6 times a week in this scenario. I only play haz 4/5, just finding a machine event is rare and completing it isn't guaranteed either. I currently have 5 cores stored up because of this.
Mineral cores are definitely not the right way to go. Once you hit the midgame and finish upgrading your weapons the resources just pile up faster than you can spend them. Mineral cores are practically useless for anything but raising your forge mastery.
