What happens when we get all the Weapon Overclocks?
Just wondering because probably me and many other players are like 3 weeks away from getting all the Weapon OC's if they did every Weekly and DD.
A friend told me we could get the old Mineral Matrix core instead of the Weapon OC, can anyone confirm or is that just a rumour.

Maybe take a break and play another game and come back to this?

Don't know what other things you can play for other than the Stars above your name... Prestige ranks? Meh. Weapon skins? Chase achievements?

Yes, you will get mineral cores after there is nothing left to unlock.

I hope we will get an option to turn them into empty cores, because there is such a gigantic amount of cosmetics to unlock. With the current maximum of 7-8 cosmetic cores per week I will need at least 6 months to get all of them.

so... 6 months before i get a beard i want :(

So what you're saying is if you should try to balance unlocking cosmetics with weapons so that you'll unlock all of both near the same week. Otherwise, you'll be fed minerals, wasting that overclock reward slot.

Yeah, plus it's pretty silly if we get minerals. That's just a kick in the nuts for anybody who spent blank cores on overclocks. Since they could have gotten those OCs straight up in following weeks and spent the blanks on cosmetics, instead of needing to get 5 mineral cores in order to unlock a single cosmetic.

Rewarding blanks just makes sense.

I'm guessing after you unlock all the overclocks, cosmetics will be next. So you unlock 2 cosmetics per DD & core assignment.

Machine events will also only reward cosmetics until you unlock them all, after that only mineral cores can be chosen.

I'm hoping they replace mineral cores with blank cores. Mineral cores always seemed like a placeholder to me.

Fairly certain it just converts them to mineral cores instead of cosmetics. Then again I haven't tested.

I would much prefer to gain a blank or cosmetic core over getting a mineral container once I have exhausted all weapon overclocks.

If I am correct I am only ten overclocks removed from collecting all of them. So it should take two more Thursdays to complete this collection.

There are around 100 overclocks and we get them at a rate of 3 per week, 6 if you spend all of your blank cores on weapons. I have been doing deep dives since the feature was added and I have 34 weapon overclocks. So most people are going to be around 3-4 months away from running out.

It would make sense to either give us a blank core or just replace the weapon overclock with a random cosmetic instead. They could also add more weapon overclocks.

I've been doing both deep dives and the weeklies since the start plus got an extra one (and 3 extra forge points) during the glitched weekly assignment reset. I've got 73 overclocks and 11 blank cores on me (and have used at least 2 blank cores on cosmetics).

Those who've been doing both dives and using cores on OCs won't be far off.

If I wouldn't had used all my empty cores for cosmetics, I would have 93 of 98 overclocks.

You can currently get 7-8 OC's per week:
1 from the weekly assignment
1 from the deep dive
1 from the elite deep dive
3 from empty cores
1-2 from forge mastery levels

Oh oops, I was looking at the wrong line in my statistics page. I currently have 81 weapon overclocks, 48 cosmetics and 17 weapon skins forged. That's with all of the deep dives to date, plus the assignments and the christmas bonus.

So one way or another they will need to make a decision soon. IMO the ideal solution would just be to give us cosmetic cores instead until more weapon stuff is added. Blank cores would also be acceptable, but machine events would become a chore if you had to do them too often, possibly 6 times a week in this scenario. I only play haz 4/5, just finding a machine event is rare and completing it isn't guaranteed either. I currently have 5 cores stored up because of this.

Mineral cores are definitely not the right way to go. Once you hit the midgame and finish upgrading your weapons the resources just pile up faster than you can spend them. Mineral cores are practically useless for anything but raising your forge mastery.

Once you get em' all you can do what we did BEFORE there were OCs ---

Build up your Dwarven Hoard of Minerals and Gold/Creds
Go for the Gold Stars
Be casual and enjoy random, regular missions- the core DRG experience is always entertaining
