Optimal M1000 + Zhukov build?

Haven't upgraded Zhukov yet but I liked it from one test run. I've been using Blowthrough Rounds with the M1000 and have found it useful against grunts since a weakpoint hipshot is an instant kill. This seems against the spirit of a gun with a focus option however. Should I take Hollow Point instead and make the Zhukovs my horde clearer or should I use my secondary for big bugs?

Hipfire is better at this stage really IMO. Focus fire deals just over double damage but you can fire multiple shots from hipfire in the time it takes to charge a focus shot, while moving at full speed and it has almost no recoil between shots.

Since hipfire was added (properly), focus fire isn't really anything more than an ammo efficient build with a higher TTK. Which is a real shame.

If you're using penetration on the m1000 and wish to use the NUKs instead of the boomstick, i'd suggest spec the NUK17s into damage, reload speed, weakpoint damage and conductive bullets. You can further increase both weapons viability with IFGs, at the cost of the OP free team saving pheromones though. Since penetration and conductive bullets are really good in combination with the IFG CC and damage bonus.

Personally I only take penetration on the M1000 in combination with the hipfire mod. I rather take penetration on the NUK17s or boomstick for a swarm focus. Otherwise I use weakpoint damage to create a middle ground between swarm clearing and high DPS.

NUK17s used to be really good DPS until hipfire came along. Now theyre still better if build for damage, but not that much better than hipfire with damage over ammo.

Focus shot build is only good for Dreadnought hunts. Fite me.

Is there a mod for M1000 that makes focus shots actually useful? Or am I wasting time getting scout mods ?
Since the nerfs M1000 is just better with 14 clip pew pew pew.

There is an OC that massively increases focus shot damage at the expense of ammo and focus speed. Another one that gives focus shots electrocution but slightly less focus damage. Whether those are useful or not I can't say since I just stick with assault rifle.
