Any point to second promotion?

I did the first promotion for Eng a while ago, and just noticed the assignment board gives me the option to do it again. I've already got the perk slot, is there a reason to do it a second time?

I guess one point is it allows you to keep leveling your account without the need to max out another dwarf class. Account levels are required to unlock cosmetics and whatnot.

Not really, but you get more Stars, and Ranks - get to Impress other Dwarves - I know I pay attention and follow Silver and Gold Ranked Dwarves

I do it so that people take a single look at my profile and basically the only comment I ever get is 'holy sheet'. (those damned yankee's and their accents)

Thats why you do it for. That and for something to spend my 2.4 million Gold Spacebuxx on.

You temporarily lose access to your gun upgrades and have to re earn them in exchange for a fancy border to make people with less fancy borders switch class because a shinier employee plate means you're better at your job in this company.

Oh this is incorrect?
I checked through the news page and saw no mention of it (although it was clogged with news articles and I didn't see past like, v19 or v18).

Sorry if it was wrong (a correction would be helpful).
