Waiting for Steam to load
I want to play this game but everytime I try to load it. It starts then goes to waiting for steam to load. I never had this problem before and have no clue how to fix it.

PC restart will sort it. It's a firewall/port forwarding issue, I believe.

Turn it on then off?
that would explain your 'black screen' or 'not loading' issues.

Has this gone anywhere?
Verified game files 3 times
Restarted steam ~10 times
Restart of PC~5
Game is running as adminstrator, tried with both firewall on and off.

I got help from a developer on Reddit.
My problem was that I had to turn off Windows Defender Anti malware.
Working fine!

with me the problem was the ARK at the system start always a Schooter.exe has started when I with the Taskmanager Kille the problem with me is gone

I'd say turn it back on, and set an exception for the game in the firewall.

I'm having this exact problem. I've tried restarting the computer. I've even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game. I've also had a firewall exception put for this game. It refuses to go past the "Waiting for Steam to load" screen.

Thank you so much! I had created every possible firewall and malware exception and nothing would get it working except this!!

I believe that they were talking about a dedicated server program for the ARK game. Apparently running a dedicated server for another Steam game can interfere with DRG. FYI, there are some suggested fixes (including the stuff about dedicated servers) for the "waiting for Steam to load" message in the first post in the pinned "Common Crashes ..." topic in the Bugs + Crashes forum section.
