how to unlock new weapons ?

i've cheated on the test server to get all weapons so i haven't understood how to unlock them normally, what are the requirements to unlock the new weapons?

You have to do an assignment mission as I understand it.

Class rank 10 and 15 to unlock primary and secondary, then you gotta do 3 missions and buy them

Are the new weapons only available on the test server? I've never actually heard of any non devs having access to it and havent heard anything about the new weapons until I finally googled it because I was under the impression the update roadmap was outdated

For now, yes, they are on the experimental branch but, barring any big bugs or anything, seem to be slated for release sometime tomorrow. Anyone can join the experimental build as long as you own the game by opting in to the beta in the Properties section of DRG on Steam.

I feel it isn't explained very clearly anywhere. The first assignment is 10 missions long. You must beat each newly unlocked mission to complete the initial assignment. Then, you can complete license upgrade assignments (3 missions) to unlock the weapon upgrade purchase option. Hope this helps someone.

Do you need to be playing as that specific class? I.e. if I'm busy do the assignments for a scout weapons, can I play them with the Driller?

Yes, you can play any class.
