Deadly Electro Crystals
Whenever I encounter these new electric crystals they are in large groups that block most of the room. The lightning flashing around is causing severe freezing/stuttering for my computer (unsure about others in the game) and is making chrystaline caverns practically unplayable.

Ive never encountered any real lag issues in any missions at all up until now so i'm hoping it's something that will be toned down.

Even when i find them in small rooms where i can just shoot them until they break i have not had much fun with this new addition ersonally.

Odd, haven't had any freezing/stuttering myself.

Personally I like them, as well as all the new enviromental hazards, really sets this game apart from other enemy based horde shootem ups.

The cave is as much a character and an enemy as the bugs are.

Well, i got hit by one once. Let´s just say i filled out some sort of bug report (RIP Err-ore ore)

But it didn´t drag my PC down thus far

Thanks for the replies. This was a bit of a bummer but knowing it's known, and that it's being worked on definately softens the blow. There is some cool potential with them and I'm excited to get a smooth version of them. I will say a room full of them probably looks really cool when it runs well.

And my computer is by no means of good quality so the stuttering/freezing definately might just be for lower end users. But still was odd considering the rest of the game gives me no problems.

Thanks again for the replies!

I personally find their damage much too high.

Ditto. And not just for yourself, but it also trivilaizes bug attacks if they're funneled into the arcing.

As Toumal said, their damage is quite high. They also slow you to keep you in their effect range which makes them worse. The upside is they work on a Swarm with equal ferocity - and that part is delightful.

When shot in an attempt to remove them, they do get fizzly and bright. It leads me to wonder - is this safe for people prone to epileptic episodes? Even accidentally shooting a crystal produces the effect.
I'm not saying it is an epilepsy risk. I'm asking *if* it might be.

I like them, but I've not been having slow downs as a result so that helps. Damage wise it was a bit of a shock (I'm here all week...) the first time I came into contact with them but I can live with it I think. I suppose its just another hazard that requires team work to over come (tunneling round with a driller or creating ziplines etc)

For the record they can be destroyed, just takes a lot of ammo.

Don't need ammo to destroy them, just dig down diagonally a few feet away from the crystal while facing it and work you way to the bottom of the crystal. It can't hit you there but you can destroy it. Destroy the rocks AROUND the base of the crystal rather than hit the crystal itself and it will be destroyed in a matter of seconds.

Nice tip, thanks!

I think there should be a way for every class to destroy them a bit more easily. . maybe soften how much damage they can take.

Same, was just in a huge room with literally dozens of them; no problems. (Except the obvious issue of being electrocuted to death lol.)

Seems several of the people mentioning this are on AMD's to me? Could be platform/hardware specific.

There's a huge issue with AMD cpus and the Unreal 4 engine. Audio, stutters, freezes etc and this has been an issue since the Unreal 4 engine came out. I have read countless reports about this all over the net, you think Epic would have addressed this already. I don't think it affects all AMD users however which makes it a very odd situation.

I have always been a Nvidia/Intel guy.
