As unless you oneshot grunts, you're better of picking the smg.
It allows you to better hit the weakpoints of bugs so it increases the range of it a bit.
I currently would use that oc, but i get far superior results with the smg so i don't use the shotty at all.
Buy yes, I always use Choke- can't function properly without it (I snag suckas mid and even Long range with Choke- even modified my playstyle months ago when they switched the tier it was in)
I Get what the Mag Pellets are supposed to do- Less shells, Less ROF, technically a tighter angle for more damage --- but ITS A SHOTGUN !! -- Spread damage and Autofire will always be better
If I want a tight firing gun I'd use the SMG (which I don't)- apparently not the Mod for me- just seems off somehow, at Least to my style of shotgun blastin'
So you say choke is good, but a oc doing almost the same is bad.
A shotguns spread is good if it can kill things. In DRG you'll mostly end up ar hitting the armor of 2 or 3 grunts and doing little dmg. Thats why i say spread is bad.
There's two shotguns in-game.
Mini Shells for the Warthog shotgun is great though. Greatly increased mag and recoil reduction at the cost of a tiny damage reduction. Still one shots grunts in the face at point blank range.
