i even drilled my way there just to see if i can make it (needed 1 supply drop midway and used all soly on drilling)
Ofcourse its random where the pod lands, but 90% of the games ive played we have been able to get out in one peace if we planned our escape before hitting that shiny red button.
If anything I would say it's too easy to get back to the drop pod, we always have like 3 to 4 mins left on the clock.
We were actually just discussing some ideas about making the end more challening for an extra reward. Like say there is a scanner beacon in the drop pod, and if you take it (You'd carry it like an egg, or pearl or w/e) you can carry it back into the level and the deeper you go with it, the more bonus reward you get (The idea being that it scans the cave system for untapped resources and such, which benefits the company in the long term), but you have to keep in mind that you still need to get back out after, within the time limit. This would be totally optional of course.
atleast 100 meters away
always in a room never in tight tunnel
not in the room you are in except that room i the whole map and/or bigger than 100 meters
always a room you(any oof the crew) already entered
When i read some of those texts here i wonder if i'm playing the same game.
The best tip someone gave me is to go up before hitting the button, running down is far easier than up.
My solution is to not play a game designed from the floor up to be online co-op solo.
If you are going to play solo, I suggest scout though.
- Follow the Mule directly back to the evac pod.
- Follow the green flashing markers the Mule places along the evac route.
- Use the driller, upgrade the drills and make your own tunnel straight to the pod once you get relatively close to it.
- Spend more time practicing orienteering in different cave biomes, possibly at lower difficulty levels. This will give you more breathing room and more opportunities to get it right without an intense amount of alien activity. Some caves are understandably more difficult than others due to terrain, layout and light level.
Accept that it is a difficult game by design and sometimes you will fail, despite your best efforts. If it was easy to evac, the game would get stale quick. If you don't get a little shot of adrenaline while you're desperately trying to escape the pursuing hordes along your evac route, you aren't playing on a high enough difficulty ;)
