it's not me, it's you.
Make sure all your other Audio devices are disabled, and that your headset is seen as the default.
I'm telling you, it's the game. Every game works just fine with my BT headset.
Thanks anyway.
Anyone else?
When using the Calling mode the audio is compressed differently than the Stereo mode, which we are not in control of.
As far as I could remember when using the Stereo driver the sound was clear and perfect and the other one it was too compressed.
As far I know from my own personal headset and via the support and download site four the MDR-XB950B1, it doesn't seem like they are officially supported for PCs, so the drivers are most likely windows generic audio drivers for Bluetooth headsets.
Sony's Support and download page for MDR-XB950B1: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/wireless-headphones-bluetooth-headphones/mdr-xb950b1#downloads
This is again my personal experience, so my guess is that it is driver and hardware specific, but in case that I am wrong, can you please specify which other games where it works for you? :)
Now I just have a couple of games installed on the computer, and they all are a little old, but I hope this helps the devs to find a solution. The BT headset works properly in all of them, unless in DRG.
Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes
The Witness
Faster than light
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
---
It also worked on Dark Souls 1 (not the HD ramake one), but it is not installed right now
In addition I have an extra clue to find out what is the problem. The headset works fine on Skype AND ALSO FOR THE GAME when playing online to Deep Rock Galactic. I mean, everything is fine in Skype and in the game when we are still in the lobby, but I stop hearing sounds from the game when the rocket / driller is being launched after a mission is selected. Even in that moment when i stop hearing the game, the headphones still work on Skype, so I can play the game with my brother warning me through Skype about creatures and so.
In conclusion, I thinks that it is not that the headset stops working, it seems that the game stops streaming sounds to the headset from a specific moment.
I really hope devs can find what the problem is.
I'm wondering if you'd DISABLED every other sound device on your PC. no deselected, notset your BT as default but basically gone into sound settings and surned the other devices' drivers OFF>
There are others who report issues with BT HS's too but I haven't been paying enough attention lately to the forums...
Well, it is true that I have been testing different settigs and so, but as I said, the point is that I hear the sound of the game when I am in the lobby with other dwarves and so, but the sounds stop in a specific moment, when the rocket is going to be launched. I mean, I am playing the game and I hear sound from it, but suddenly sound stops.
On the second hand, the BT headset is still working all the time as Skype is being used at the same time, so I hear the game and also my friends on skype and, from a specific moment (when the game have to load the map of the level we are going), I only hear skype. And that is the thing, I think that is this process of loading the map and so what changes the way the game streams the audio, maybe a better audio system when in the caves and so, but for some resaon some headsets are not able no reproduce it.
About the driver, I cannot say. I am using the one in the installation CD, and in the Sony's homepage I connot find a better driver for it. Even if I use the Windows generic one, I have the same problem.
