Time spent with the class. If the player is good, the extra time will make him or her improve on this small time. If the player was bad, at least now he or she must know more of the class or how the game works even if they are still bad.
You can feel good about yourself if you want to carry people that are actually working against the mission, I honestly don't want that because I'm fed up of 3 new players joining that start events without asking, die alone exploring forward ignoring the rest of the team, spam supply pods for themselves and more.
Prove your point, what hurts you that much.
