Beeping canister thing?

Just bought the game last night and so far it's bl00dy brilliant. However, just came across a canister that has a pulsing beep every second that I had to dig out of the ground. I can't seem to find any info about it (only beeping thing I got info on was something called BET-C) and can't stuff it inside of M.U.L.E., so what is and what do I do with it? Is it an explode-y thing I can throw?

There is a crate with loot in it nearby, it requires two of those cannisters to open. They're batteries/keys, look for lights or follow sounds to find the crate

Cheers for the fast reply. Had the game on pause (playing solo) until I got an answer but unfortunately I now hear some god awful rumbling movement lower down now I'm paranoid I'm going to run into another Bulk Detonator. I had to go down from Haz 4 to 3 due to the fact I'm getting clausrophobically small tunnels and got annihilated the first time I came across one during a swarmer, er, swarm.

Edit: Yup. Not a minute after unpausing a swarm of grunts, exploders, three Praetorians happened. And then a wild Bulk Detonator appeared. I currently have approximately 1% health.

The 'god awful rumbling' might be a Breeder, and the sound will continue for ten minutes after you kill it.

Bulkies make more of a stomping sound, slower than a Praetorian stomping. Bulkies will roar when going for the attack and will start tearing the caves apart to get to you if they have to (those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ got some anger issues)

Found the crate and then found a 'battery' a bit afterwards.
Didn't know what they were.
I just kept the battery with me to kill monsters as they charged me.

Now I know.
LOL!

Had the pleasure of playing on a 4-man team with a newbie the other day. Just after finishing the mission objectives, we found a crate.

We were, of course, thrilled. Until the newbie hit the Call Drop Pod button. A moment of silence followed, followed again by intense gunfire from my teammates towards the hapless newbie.

Morale of the story: none whatsoever.

Not a too big deal, unless you're unlucky you can finish the crate in less than a minute.

FYi for new players (since this thread is already necrod), you can always use the built in laser pointer to ping something that you don't recognize. The name will pop up and usually a voice line will give you a hint about what to do with it.
