hey again :)

i’d scattered loot around the maps, but it felt a bit pointless. so now you’ll find these chests mainly around enemy camps.

i also added a condition system to guns, radios, hammers, binoculars… pretty much every usable tool.

on a long trip like this, finding a kar98k early and keeping it forever made things feel a little too easy. i noticed i barely bothered with other weapons once i had one.

letting gear wear out gives me a reason to keep searching, try other stuff, and think about when to use the good things i find. i’d rather let you enjoy them early and eventually need a replacement than keep them out of reach for hours. it felt more fun in a quick test, but i’m curious how you guys feel about it. enemies can drop loot now too. sometimes taking a fight might be worth it instead of sneaking past everyone :)

my teammate’s busy with the next maps and puzzles using the mechanics we already have. i asked what he was making and he sent me this

he says it’s gonna be fun. i still have no idea what i’m looking at, but i’m excited to try it

hopefully in the next few days, i’ll share more screenshots or a video of where the road takes us next. we’re still working on lighting and materials, but here’s a little sneak peek :)

would gear wearing out make finding loot more exciting for you, or just make you save everything “for later”?

come hang out in discord and let me know. i’d love to keep building this with you guys and trying out your ideas :)
