Your profile shows you have 0.2 hours so far in the game which imo seems a little short to come to a conclusion like this. Out of interest what would you suggest the level design/game play should have been?

The game is about Alyx, it's her story prior to the events of HL2 so yes ... no Gordon. That's why they called it HL: Alyx. It's also purposely designed to be played in VR.

Are you playing this in VR or using a flat screen mod?

alright. thanks for answering consciously. :) its like they handpicked half life 2 to death. first thing though is that half life 2 was nothing like the original. they adapted a couple characters images and ported them into the sequel. first amateur move. the first game was a ♥♥♥♥ to play at the time. i had to upgrade my fast modern pc to gamer specs to just run it. took me months to save for lol. then playing it was just a little boring imo. half life 2 had a problem as it had to live up to the first games hype. well. it was a flop imo. as it was just another iteration of the first game. albeit with better graphics. which is still questionable. but a lesser story. as rising from and ashes of a previous universe game was never an appeal to me, imo. so now we have a shadey version of half life 2 with slightly better graphics, more polygons and no Gordon Freeman main character. so i'm thinking they just chucked it together using b side assets to fill the void of the absence of half life 3 in it's entirety....

Based on your statement here I think maybe you just don't like Half Life games(1 being boring,2 being a flop as you say).

Of course everyone is entitled to opinions. That being said, I remember those games very differently. I found Half Life 1 to be unique to FPS games, as previously I had only played arena games like Quake, Unreal Tournament, etc. Half life had a main character who was easy to pretend was me since he never spoke and the game's story and other characters did the heavy lifting and kept me very engaged. Half Life 2 felt awesome to me since Gordon is still just along for the ride and all of a sudden he is being treated as a freedom fighter by everyone in the game. As far as graphics were concerned I remember them being kinda cutting edge at the time for alot of gamers, myself included.

Alyx takes a very different direction, and people expecting it to feel like a sequel to HL2 would definitely be disappointed I think. Being designed for VR and accessibility the gameplay is nowhere near as intense as the first 2 games and the story is Alyx's, not Gordon's as Ian mentioned already. Graphically I and many others feel it is leaps and bounds ahead of most VR games still being made(although it would have trouble competing with current flatscreen games understandably). That said Alyx is my favorite VR game still. I hope more like it get made. There are too ,many sandbox and multiplayer shooters in VR at the moment.

Looking at his profile, most of the games he plays are trash like Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy, Detroit Become Human, and most of the games are the 'instant noodle' type, where the gameplay mainly relies on cutscenes and QTEs :))). He doesn't even have a single VR game except for Half-Life: Alyx, and I bet he doesn’t even own a VR headset. I’m pretty sure he’s just playing the Non-VR mod version of the game and complaining about it. Playing Half-Life: Alyx without a VR headset is like playing GTA without an open world, so this isn’t a criticism based on objectivity, but mostly due to ignorance HAHAHA.

Sziasztok! Egy olyan gond adódott, hogy kb 15-20 perc után a játék kilép a steam felületre magától. A gépem bőven megfelő a futtatáshoz. Eddig nem volt gond, azóta ilyen mióta utoljára frissült a steam. Esetleg tud valaki valamilyen megoldást.UI: csak ennél az egy VR játéknál produkálja ezt.
