can a meta quest 3s 128 gig run this?

im trying to get an affordable headset to play this for christmas, this has been out for nearly 5 years and I want to play it finally.

You can't run PCVR games natively on Meta hardware unfortunately. You would need to use air link, virtual desktop or some other streamer to stream the game from your PC to the headset. Meta quest headsets do have the Steam Link app to make it more seamless but I've never used it.

Regardless, if you can get one of those streamers set up, you can play this on a 3s.

It can’t run on the quest itself, but if you have a gaming pc you can download the steam link app in your quest and stream the game from you pc to your quest.

it could run on the quest 1 if you wanted it to. you just need a computer and quest/steam link. which im sure you already have.

I already have the computer, what I mean is the headset compatible for the game itself, I want to connect the vr headset to my computer.

I've been running it thru the official cable that meta had to offer and currently have a quest 3 with 128 GB and so far it's been running decent. The experience for me usually comes with stutters once awhile and a lot of lagging issues when restarting from the last checkpoint but after those experiences the game if running properly looks amazing! not sure if it has to do with my PC as I recently got it or just the cable or even the quest itself. I would recommend it honestly if u have a decent PC.

You need either a USB 3 cable or a Wifi 5+ router (6+ preferred) to connect to your computer.

Note also that the computer should have a decent GPU.

I played through the whole thing on a quest 2 via steam link. great experience. you can pick one up used for like $100. HL2 + episodes 1 and 2 are also fantastic in VR

my quest3s runs the game great, played on a quest 2 with stick drift originally and it was still really really nice

make sure you atleast have a gtx 1660 super and ryzen 5 3600 as that was the setup i originally ran it on at max settings

I have NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER. Is that close enough? AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor. I have this too

should work but i'd recommend selling and getting a 3060, you'd probably have to run at lower settings

i was just recommending you to get a graphics card upgrade if you are going to play this game, its much smoother on certain stages with a better gpu

I'll believe this but I atleast want to try without having to resort to upgrading yet. I can play cs2 full 60 fps no problem with my setup.

the quest 3 hardware is mobile, it would explode if you even try to run this massive behemoth of a vr game, even on the lowest settings.

dont bother, get a pc and crank everything to the max and experience this masterpiece the way its intended

Yeah......... I got a lot of hateful comments when I asked this on reddit. Lol some said I couldn't even run it on a 3s.... and considered me a squid shaped moron for asking 🙄 🙃. Other said get a desktop poor boy!!!.... unfortunately I travel too much for a desktop to be practical and my monster of a gaming rig was sold by an ass of a landlord.

Anyway after that phenomenally boring story 😴 let me just say I'm running Alyx on a modest asus laptop at full graphics via airlink since my cable was damaged by Amazon... and aside from rare microstutters thanks to wifi and fortnight obsessed teens in a a shared house. The game seems as real as real life which is trippy like you wouldn't imagine

I picked up a tin can and looked inside honestly thinking it was real. I saw machines crawling all over the city and above me with no stuttering. The game runs absolutely perfect and I haven't melted my laptop like several people claim. Yes it gets a little warm but it's nothing more than Xcom 2 or Prey maximum graphics heat without VR even skyrim vr runs like a dream
