Strange relation between PS VR2 bluetooth connectivity and performance?
Hello
I am very green as far as VR goes, but I wanted to ask a question because while in the end it did work out for me it is still a huge coincidence or extremely puzzling.
As the title states I recently got a hold of a PS VR2 PC adapter and bought the TP-Link UB 500 Bluetooth adapter, needless to say that while I did ran into the same issues that have been reported, meaning losing tracking of mostly the left controller for a few seconds and every few minutes I was also having issues with this game, mostly whenever it loaded into a new zone the game hanged and I had to restart it.
After doing some research, I saw a video where someone was recommending the TP-Link Archer TX3000e AX3000 wifi and bluetooth PCIe card, so I decided to give it a shot
It works wonderfully, have not lost tracking on the controllers at all.
But what I am getting at and the reason of the post is that I noticed the game is not hanging anymore, no need to restart it
Now could it be a major coincidence or is there a relation between both?
Thanks

First and foremost great to hear you found a solution and are now able to enjoy the game without interruption. It's interesting that this also seemingly cured the issue with hanging when loading which doesn't seem purely coincidental seeing that you only made a hardware change.

That issue has been reported by others in the past using PCVR headsets and I'm wondering now if the hanging is associated with the possible interruption of tracking comms during heavy resource usage when loading levels. Not conclusive but interesting none the less.

I had the same UB 500 and it's a very weak signal. I got it working alright by getting an extension so that it was sitting on top of the desk with zero obstruction. But then it just broke entirely a week later, with my windows hardware stuff just saying that "Driver Error: One or more issues happened with this device" or something similar. That includes after uninstalling it and letting windows re-update the driver, then deleting it all and manually installing the driver from the website.

So I'm not waiting on another bluetooth USB before I can continue playing. I think that UB-500 is just a piece of garbage. It's also the top recommendation, which is likely why so many are seeing issues on the PSVR2.

Glad to hear everything is working well now. I had the same issue with the UB500 adapter, and after a lot of search, I found that TP-LINK released a beta driver that fixes the tracking problems with the controllers.

Since you’ve already got another adapter, you’re good, but for anyone else facing this, you can get the driver on Sony’s support page:

https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/hardware/pc-ps-vr2-bluetooth

It’s a bit frustrating that this adapter is still on the recommended list when it’s not fully ready yet.
