Yes, absolutely.
I've tried both, cable and air-link and all woeked just fine. I haven't seen any control issues nor compression artifacts.

Wi-Fi router should be connected to PC via ethernet cable (preferably 1 Gbit/s).

Just finished Alyx using quest2 yesterday. Since this was my first experience with VR, in the first hours I had a hard time finding the perfect position for the device with the default strap but managed to do it finally.

Valve is purposefully destroying performance of Quest 2 if you're using SteamVR.
