Gravity Gloves and Gun Despawn

I haven't played Half-Life: Alyx in a year and a half and I wanted to play it again. After completing chapter 1 I load into chapter 2 and for some reason my gravity gloves and gun despawn. I tried resetting the game, reloading my last save, restarting the story with a new save. Nothing has work so far. the only thing i haven't done is reinstall the game. i also tried to look up a solutions and nothing came up.

I've just started having this exact same issue in the same spot while letting a friend play. Are you subscribed to any workshop mods?

there was a patch today. I think something in the patch glitched the gun and gravity gloves

A patch came out today which I believe has caused this problem. I'm seeing it too

try starting the game from chapter 2
i randomly decided to try that and i got them back

Ahh right so its not a mod related issue etc.

Probably is the patch at fault then. Gutted though as my mate was round and he was experiencing VR for the 1st time and he was really getting into Alyx till that bug put a stop to it

the exact thing happen to me and i reinstall the game and it still happens to me without mods on. like im as vanilla as possible so i guess the new update broke it idk. sucks because i want to get gnome achivement but now i cant cuz that deletes itself to.

I'm also having this issue. It looks like a patch completely killed story progression. First time playing the game and as soon as you get off the first train your gloves disappear and your gun disappears preventing any further progress. Sucks.

thx a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot guys, ive been sufferred from this too and i finally decided to look it uo here,just got this game and this dumb bug really confused me

thats a sucky first impression of the game. other than that its the best VR game out their. thats just my opinion tho.
