I'm running a 5950x cpu
- I use Adaptive VR Superr Samling (VRSS)
- Ingame Ultra High Quality
- SteamVR 150% (3892x3792)
And i stream over the same PC in nearly 1080p ( i have no StreamingPC)
https://store.steampowered.com/app/966610/FPS_Monitor__hardware_ingame__desktop_overlays/ (i use this for Benchmarks and for sure as an Overlay sometimes). In my Opinion better than MSI Afterburner or something like that (because you can design and embed it the way you want (you can make your own overlay with it)
And how you can see also on 150% no Issues at all and Adaptive SuperSampling (Nvidia Driver Setting). In my Opinion Alyx runs great for this High Resolution ( I got the Reverb G2 currently).
Hope i could help you so you could compare a bit. I delete this Video, because i do not save VOD`s on my Channel. And I mostly reached the 90 FPS (90Hz) despite the high resolution. The FPS only drops slightly during fast movements, but that is not noticeable in the game and normal at this Resolution. Between 150 and 200% i see not really a big Difference, therefore i play on 150% with saved Headroom in all VR Games.
Looking at the usage graph it seems the memory usage reset to around 7gb each loading zone then gradually went up the longer I played in that map.
I would say working as intended.
Make sure you have the latest FirmwareUpdates for your Quest 2 , than you can play on 90 or experimental 120 Hz ;), just as a tip

And one thing I can tell you as a beginner is that there will never be a "good". I started with the Rift S and thought Whuhuuuuuuuuuu, then came the Valve Index, the HTC Vive and now I have the Reverb G2 since November last Year (and wait for the next generations like Valve Index 2, Reverb G3 , Quest 3, Decagear and so on).
What I'm saying is, enjoy the moment with your current Goggles and if you want go with the technology keep going. And you have to remember that Vr is still in its infancy. But if you look back a few years, many things have already become much better and, above all, more user-friendly.
For you it is currently just all new and unfamiliar, but you will quickly see through it and will also quickly realize what demands you have on VR like Fingertracking, Lighthouse Tracking, InsideOut Goggles sufficient ? , Threadmills, Gunstocks, Handtracking and so on ^^ ;). Find your way you like it. In my eyes, there is no good or bad. It only depends on what demands you yourself have on VR (and above all what you want to invest for it, since VR is not exactly "cheap which you can see very well in the fact that VR hasn't really caught on yet, but it gets better and more and more get the taste worldwide.
I played in a VR Arkademie for the first time on the HTC Vive (15€ for 30 minutes of play). And since that day I just enjoy being in the middle of it instead of just being there :D
If VR becomes more popular, then game developers will also follow suit and develop/port more games. Currently, the market is simply too small to put a lot of money into TOP VR Games.
Anyway have fun with your quest 2
