Can't play the game, stuck on main menu without cursor
I just downloaded the game and booted it up to find out I can't interact with the menu for some reason. I'm using a WMR headset, and its software detects my controllers perfectly; so does SteamVR. I can't see my hands or any cursor for that matter.

I'm running it on an i7-6700, GTX 1070 (8GB VRAM) and 16GB RAM. I can provide more specs info if you think that may be the issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Edit: My issue was my profile name, which uses an " ó ". If anyone else has this issue try switching to a different profile or changing your profile name (if possible, idk if it is). Steam support also told me to opt out of any beta programs, if that0s your case. :)

Yep, that's what I do. I plug in the headset, the WMR Portal opens, I turn on the controllers, open SteamVR and from there I open the game. :steamsad:

It’s a known issue with the beta update. I have exactly the same thing and I’ve seen other posts here with the same issue. You can try and roll back to the latest stable release but there’s issues with that too, namely lots of jittering and it seems to mostly be affecting us WMR users. They will only change it if they get enough reports, so log a report w them and hopefully we won’t have to wait too long for them to see a lot of people have an unplayable game

Same thing happened to me, make sure to send Steam Support a message. I received a message back that states that it's a known issue, and they're working on it. I hope they get it fixed soon!

I posted an edit on the top stating what my issue was. Other than that, game runs fine for me apart from the common, hardware-related issues. Didn't know WMR had more issues!

So I tried everything that has been suggested here and elsewhere to try and fix the problem, to no avail. Today I nuked my computer, and installed Win 10 from scratch. Installed Steam/ HLA, and now it works! Bummer to have to do that, but I'm glad the game is finally working. One thing I noted, and hope will be helpful: prior to fixing it, I noticed that the controllers DID NOT show up in the generic Steam VR pre-game environment (the one where you're standing in the middle of concentric circles, with mountains in the distance and stars above). After I re-installed Windows, the WMR controllers appeared in that environment. Perhaps that provides a clue? Good luck to any other WMR users who can't get the game going, I hope Valve fixes this bug soon.
