How Long to Beat
When the howlongtobeat website says this one takes about 11 hours to complete, do you all think that is including the 5 or so hours you spend drawing male body parts on windows, or is that considered an extra?

Took me 12 hours first run. I don't rush games.

I spent about an hour throwing things at cats/birds and painting pictures on windows lol. I just got to the part where I got tazed (AKA, I walked 50 ft.) and took a break (VR exhausts me). I think il be in this one for a long time.

I also hit a biker with a full soda can from the roof!!! happiest moment of my life.

Is this one comparable to HL1 on hard? That game was pretty great on hard. It took me about 20 hours to beat because I had to learn spawns and reload often to do things more efficiently.

It took me 8 hours, I didn't feel like I rushed and I was looking for all the Resin. I may of just spent less time looking at stuff in the world but I would say I went through at a casual pace.

I finished in 13 hours. Not bad for a VR game at all.

I'd say it took me 17 hours, I don't like my first run to be fast.

first time to play is around 13-15 hours (immersion , figure stuff out included )

in second playthrough... once you become Alyx Wick... well 8-10 hours. (no rush just waltz)

13 hours here. I look for collectables and explore every nook I can.

Around 18 hours first run.

I'm relatively new to both Steam and VR. At least at this level of actually completing long play games. So question...

I am on a load screen, or if I am in a safe part of the game and just take off my headset and do the dishwasher and dishes, and then come back... that's all counted as time in game? I think the issue, especially, is if I am in game and then get disrupted while at the load screen, is that counted as actual gameplay? Because I'm at something like 20 hours, but I am sure I've 4 or 5 hours in just trying to slip into VR without interruption.

I should assume my gameplay hours count is totally jacked vs what I've really played? There's no "movement" time count in these games, right?

I find that save slot time stamps are usually a better indicator for how long it took you to beat. Although it wont count time spent reloading after a death (in most cases at least) and if you go AFK midgame, it will count that. So you should AFK in the main menu if you are worried about this.

So far I have no AFK time, and no deaths, and im probably close to done with chapter 3/11 where steam says I have between 3 and 4 hours played. Extrapolating this data, I assume I will get around 15 hours. But I am really enjoying it. 1 hour of entertainment in VR is worth about 4 or 5 hours of entertainment in a 2-D game for me in terms of satisfaction.

I stretched my 1$/hour of entertainment requirement in 2D games to 4$/hour of entertainment for VR purchases, and I can't say I feel cheated yet.

I went real slow, extremely slow. I took in the game piece by piece, my first playthrough took me days, and I was in VR for hours on end.

Depends, if you're first time in VR maybe 15 hours, I'm experienced so I took 11 hours, altough I palyed it again a couple of times and its definitly easily done much faster if you wanna rush it, just use the teleport instead of walking, it goes WAY faster

The game took me over 20 hours on my first run, (including a surprising amount of time taking in the game's opening scene) :steamhappy:

I'm now half-way through a second playthrough and feel I've discovered even more during this too.
