Am I doing something wrong with the electric crabs???
Are these stupid things supposed to be a boss fight or something? I feel like it shouldn't take 7 minutes or so to kill a single enemy, especially when all it is, is a thing that blocks a door.. Used all of my shotgun ammo on one and it didnt die, and a boatload of ammo for the pistol.
Just got to the part where you see two below you and you're surrounded by zombies and I just quit out of the damn game I didn't want to be bothered with fighting two for twenty minutes especially when they're not a challenge, just extremely, extremely, annoying.

Please tell me there's some weakspot on it that I'm just not noticing to speed up killing them

this is the key. kill them first.
Yup, its as if they get full health after going into a body or something. If they keep being able to jump into a new body it will take a long time and a lot of ammo to kill them.

I figure they are a boss fight, gotta keep shooting them. When they go into bodies hit the weakspots until they die and just shoot the damn things. I used a lot of ammo but killed them.

Not what i was hoping to hear, but I think you're right. Very, very tedious in my opinion. Not looking forward to the double battle when I play again tomorrow

Thanks I'll keep it in mind for tomorrow, it did seem like they would heal when they jumped in the bodies or something. Nine shotgun shells seemed like far too many to kill one enemy

I cheesed the hell out of the boss room that had two of them in it, since they are locked in place fighting each other till you shoot them, I took 4 grenades and cooked and threw all 4 at them before they went off, and rapid fired the shotgun at them as they exploded, killed them both instantly, boss room skipped. :P (That was the second playthrough, the first run caused me massive frustration, first time I solved it by just ignoring and kiting the zombies while killing the dogs so they had no corpses to infest.)

That thing also bugged out for me :/
I attacked it when it was still in the cellar and behind the fence, but after it left the body it just jumped behind the table on the left side and it never came out :/
This prevented that the room opens, so i had to reload :(

After that it was just like your experience. I had 170 bullets for my gun and 9 shells for my shotgun....it did not die....the next time i will try my grenade(always keep one around).

I hate those things :/ They are not scary, or disgusting like Headcrabs...just tedious.

The shotgun is great against them as long as they are not in a body, but when they are in a body, its probably best to use a more precise weapon.

I found the fastest way to kill them is hit the weak spot in the host. They become really easy to kill after you do this twice

when youre bad at a game and make a post about how its the games fault

when the electric dog takes control of a host it wraps itself around different limbs and the head of the body. if you have the scope attachement on a weapon the dog will glow as a orange ball hit that ball part,

however if you dont have the scope attachement then it will glow blue...
without the scope the blue is more visible when its not firing electric bolts !!

again same deal hit it with the pistol, let it move limbs, normally it will go from the arm to the head, then to a leg, as it exits the host get a volley of shots on it, when its crawling slowly its almost dead and a few little volleys to finish the job.

if you are not hitting the dog part that is wrapped around a limb, but instead you are hitting the body its took control of the shots are wasted, because you cant kill the body its already dead. only target the dog in any state

Also, it seems to me that all of this is only to get it out of the corpse again, as far as I can tell you can only do real damage to it when its not inside a corpse... and as I mentioned earlier, it might even regain health when it goes inside a corpse. But not sure about that. Just seemed like I could deal with the first lightning dog with I think it was two grenades.
Shane Mar 29, 2020 @ 6:30am
i wouldnt waste a grenade on those things anyway, if your right it will only be an additional 9 bullets from the handgun, thats all it takes to force it out of the body
