CParticleTypeManager::GetErrorResource():Problem loading error.vpcf please validate your game install

Getting this error since last night, any help would be appreciated. Seems Steam related.

Every time I start the game this error pops up and I can't move past it. I've tried validating files about 20 different times. Each time the error appears, the next start up of the game results in about 2 minutes of files verifying/downloading.

Uninstalled/reinstalled Oculus software, graphics drivers and the game. Help!

Have you tried validating/reinstalling the SteamVR program?

Yes, many times. Even ran through Steam support supplying all logs. They were absolutely stumped by it and passed it on to the developer but who knows if/when it will ever get fixed. They recommended I reach out to the community. Appreciate the response/suggestion :)

Did you install a custom mod perhaps? If so make sure they are all disabled.

Nothing custom at all. Completely default installation. In fact the only way I can get it to work after it starts throwing this error is to uninstall and re-download the entire game every single time which takes a very long time.

No I didn't I'm afraid. I haven't played in a while so not sure if it's still an issue.
